HOW TO INSTALL THE SPARE TIRE RACK
STEP 1
Set the mounting plate over the 4 bolts with the metal loop facing up and tighten each nut. Position your wheel and tire in the center of this loop.
STEP 2
Take your J hook and hook it to the metal loop on the mounting plate.
STEP 3
Grab your wheel plate and attach the foam wheel protector strips to both sides. Place the wheel plate over the j hook, threading the j hook through the hole in the center of the wheel plate.
STEP 4
Thread the top handle onto the j bolt until the wheel plate is tight against the wheel. Align the side hole on the handle to the side hole on the wheel plate and place your lock through both to secure your tire to the carrier.

Solid piece of kit overall. Thankfully it came with a lock included meaning I don't need to go out and buy one. My one complaint is that one of the washers is too small to fit onto the main thread.

Have two of these, in both of them some of the hardware bolts ceased as I tightened the nuts up in which I had to cut the bolts of as they would not tighten up or come back off, go to Home Depot and get some grade 8 hardware and don’t use the hardware that comes with them

The product was delivered on time but missing parts. Also included were other parts that had nothing to do with the product. The missing pieces were not critical but should have been included.

I needed a spare tire mount for my Rhino Rack X tray Lg. Tho one fit nicely as it is universal and would fit many different baskets. So far so good and happy with my purchase.

It was super hard to install. The instructions were completely worthless and featured incorrect parts. Whenever I was finished installing it there were parts leftover and weren’t shown in the instructions. It does work, but I still used a ratchet for peace of mind. Definitely better than paying over $100

If you, like me; have a generic basket, then MANY of the tire mounts do not fit because of various reasons. This has a better design just by having the grooves running longer, they Yakima has one hole for the screw to fit so if your basket doesn’t work 200% then you’re screwed (lol). This works for the most sold generic cargo rack. I recommend this! Finally sorted my tire issue.
