I wanted to buy my own kayak but there's no way I could just buy an SUV or truck just to transport it. So, I checked out Amazon and found this! It's so easy to install straight out of the bag, and it packs neatly right back into it. This allowed me to go buy my own and I drove over 2 hours home with no issues (save for not realizing you need to twist the straps to prevent whistling/howling, but that's on me not the product). The straps secured it in place and with a tie at the trunk it was not moving!Now, as others have commented, I can see how it would let water seep in since it breaks the seal of the door, so this may not be good if it's raining on your trip. But I really feel like this is a lifesaver for car owners who need something as I did.

I had purchased another brand of Kayak transport foam blocks (one seen in white in the photo) and they just didn't work great and only covered a small portion of the roof. I then purchased these Chinese "MeeFar" brand pads and was very surprised by the quality of the full roof width pads and ratcheted straps.The kit I got came with two full roof width cloth covered foam pads that strap down to the roof, and then two ratchet straps, two hood loops, and two tie down ropes. I have a 10' foot 50lb Kayak and it slides onto the pads nicely. The ratchet straps have pads on the metal parts to protect the car and Kayak. Very nice setup for the price. Used it several times now and it's worked great!

The product was super easy and quick to install!I was able to get it done on my own in about 1/2 hour. I am a 5'4" 130 lb female ( for reference). I felt that was good timing since I was unfamiliar with the product. All the parts worked as needed. I drove 50minutes (back roads) at speeds up to 50 mph with a 6 foot kayak on a chevy spark!The kayak remained secure...no shifting at all.There was noise (similar to a leaf blower) that I got use too and didn't concern me when I realized the kayak was remaining secure!

1 light season of use and its doing well. it does not slide (which some of the others do), is sturdy and the foam is strong, it is easy to setup and very secure with the kayak on it. No complaints so far. does the job. I bought one for my mom and will be buying one for myself too :) But the price did go up $10 since I bought it...

These worked perfectly for our Subaru Impreza and soft car top luggage carrier on a 10 hour road trip. We needed to tighten the straps after the first fifty miles or so. And again after a couple hundred miles. The strap material seems to relax/stretch out with the first use. We didn't have to do that on the way home. The foam pads do get a bit saturated with continuous or pooling rain, and when that happens water may drip into the interior of your car. I don't recommend leaving them on when you aren't using them. Overall I am super happy with the purchase for the price!

The title is my opinion. I will have a use for this item but, let me tell you about my experience yesterday. I had already mounted the pads on my 2019 Colorado to see how they fit. I knew the straps ran through the vehicle but the whole thing only cost like 73 with tax so I could accept that. Before you buy this ask yourself if you are ok with the straps going around the roof onto your door gaskets and touching portions of your headliner.Next if your vehicle has Onstar or similar, note the placement of the antennae. Mine is right in the middle of the rear portion of the cab so if your not ok with item you are carrying pushing against it, this product may not be for you.Placement of the first kayak was easy enough and the straps that hold it down join the others running around the roof through the door opening , and clamping to themselves. The noise that ensued from my particular vehicle/ watercraft combo was extremely loud inside the cab. I read others who claim adjustments may be necessary to minimize noise. If you don’t wish to try repeated adjustments to minimize noise, this product may not be for you.Next I got to the location of the second kayak and attempted to add it to the top of my vehicle. There was no way it was going to fit side by side and I figured the liability of trying to stack them would not be worth the risk. In the end, I put everything on my utility trailer and left the rack at home.All of this being said, I think this product will be useful for my paddle board, as I can inflate it at home, and put it on the top of my truck with my kayaks in the back (with the tool box removed). I’m also just a few miles from the water.For the money:If you have a vehicle that you aren’t scared of leaving a few small marks onIf you don’t mind a little wind/ strap noiseIf it’s not a long tripIf you’re going by yourselfIf you own a car and roof carry is the only way this may be the ticket.The material seems to be decent quality and should stay that way as long as you don’t leave it exposed to the sun.

The box came open and missing all the pieces except 1 pad... very disappointed after waiting for so long to get it.
