Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Question The volume is too low/How do I adjust the volume on my AirPods?
Answer The volume level depends on two things: the input volume and the headphone volume. Use the volume controls on the device your MEE audio Connect Air is plugged into, such as the in-flight entertainment system, to adjust the input volume (for example with an in-flight entertainment system, you can raise the volume using the on-screen or remote control).
Answer (Continued) The headphone volume is adjusted using the volume controls on the headphones. In the case of AirPods, because there are no built-in volume controls, if adjusting the input volume does not provide sufficient volume, you can adjust the base volume of the AirPods by connecting them to your iPhone or iPad, increasing or decreasing the volume, and then connecting them back to the MEE audio Connect Air transmitter.
Question Will the MEE audio Connect Air work with my hearing aids?
Answer This depends on the hearing aids - it will work with hearing aids that (1) support stereo audio over Bluetooth (the A2DP Bluetooth profile) and (2) can be paired to a Bluetooth device without the use of an app or an additional Bluetooth accessory (same as a headphone). If both (1) and (2) are true, you will be able to pair your hearing aids by putting the hearing aids and the Connect Air transmitter into Bluetooth pairing mode at the same time.
Question Can I use this device to stream music from my phone to a speaker, car stereo, or other non-Bluetooth audio device?
Answer No, the MEE audio Connect Air only works as a Bluetooth transmitter. To connect a speaker or car stereo to your phone, see the MEE audio Connect Air Pro model.
Question Does the MEE audio Connect Air work with AirPods 4 (4th generation), AirPods Pro 2 (2nd generation), and AirPods Max?
Answer Yes, you can use these and all other versions of AirPods with the Connect Air. Make sure your AirPods are updated to the latest available firmware version. If you are having issues with one or both earpieces of your AirPods connecting, reset your AirPods and the Connect Air transmitter, then pair them again. Instructions for resetting AirPods can be found by searching “how to reset” + your AirPods model. To reset the Connect Air, power it on and press the button 6 times in quick succession.
Issue There is a delay (latency) in audio when using my MEE audio Connect Air
Resolution Bluetooth is a digital wireless audio signal with coding/decoding steps that are expected to create some lag, but the Connect Air minimizes this lag and supports both aptX and aptX Low Latency audio codecs, which have lower latency (less audio delay) than regular Bluetooth audio. Using the Connect Air with a headphone that supports aptX - and especially aptX Low Latency - will greatly reduce or eliminate audio lag. You can find a list of aptX Low Latency-capable headphones on the aptX website.
Issue MEE audio Connect Air displays a solid pink light
Resolution Perform a hardware reset by inserting a pin or paperclip into the reset pinhole on the left side of the device

We have only used it with a Bluetooth headphones a few times and it worked fine so far. The battery time seems OK, too.

My IPhone and this item works well with my Bluetooth headphones. My IPhone works well with my Bluetooth Widex hearing aids. I bought this hoping it would work with my Widex hearing aids. Some reviews mentioned it working with hearing aids. It doesn’t work with mine.

I am extremely impressed by this device! It was super easy to setup with my AirPods Pro. Has never disconnected, and the sound comes through pretty good, although at a much lower volume than what it should, so you have to turn your volume up a fair bit, but works perfect. I use this at the gym to connect to the equipment where I watch YouTube while I run.

I recently purchased this adapter, and it has completely changed my travel experience. This small, yet powerful gadget deserves a solid five-star review!First and foremost, the ease of use of this adapter is outstanding. It's a breeze to set up and connect to my AirPods - simply plug it into the airplane's headphone jack, pair it with my AirPods, and I'm ready to enjoy my favorite music or movies wirelessly. The process is quick and seamless, allowing me to start enjoying my in-flight entertainment right away. The audio quality is fantastic. I was initially skeptical about using a wireless audio transmitter, fearing that it might compromise the sound, but I'm happy to report that the sound remains crisp and clear. The adapter delivers excellent audio, immersing me in a world of rich sound while I'm flying.I especially appreciate the fact that this adapter allows for up to 2 AirPods to be connected simultaneously. This means that not only can I enjoy my music or movies privately, but I can also share the experience with a travel companion without the need for a headphone splitter. It's a convenient feature that adds an extra level of enjoyment to my travel time.Portability is another feature worth mentioning. This adapter is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry in my bag or pocket. It's the perfect travel companion, ensuring that I always have a wireless audio solution handy when I need it.Lastly, the battery life on this adapter is impressive. It lasts throughout the entire duration of my flight, allowing me to enjoy uninterrupted audio without any worries. I never have to be concerned about running out of battery during my travels.

I bought this transmitter because I had recently purchased AirPods Pro 2 (APP2), and my previous transmitter would not work with them. This appears to be a common complaint and very few Bluetooth Transmitters, currently, support the APP2 (but earlier AirPods seem to be easily supported). I can confirm the MEE transmitter works flawlessly with my APP2.Additionally, I tested the dual headphone feature by connecting the APP2 as well as a pair of Jabra 85t buds to the MEE transmitter at the same time. This was also a simple process, and both pairs had no issue connecting the MEE simultaneously. There was a slight difference in delay between the two pairs of headphones, but this is to be expected. An obvious, but worth noting, feature (or lack there of) is any volume control built into the MEE. So if you are using headphones that do not have volume control on the headphones (such as the original AirPods line) you will need to set the volume by connecting them to a traditional Bluetooth TX source (phone, tablet, etc.) and adjust the volume to the setting you with to use with the MEE. In the scenario I mentioned about, both the APP2 and Jabra 85t have on device volume control, so this was no issue. HOWEVER, I was very impressed that when using the MEE with two headphones/earbuds simultaneously, the volume control on each set of headphones was independent of the other device. Meaning I could increase/decrease the volume on the APP2 while having the Jabra volume stay constant. Before purchasing the MEE I had tested a few other similar Bluetooth transmitters, and the volume control was not independent (adjust volume on headphone #1 would also adjust the volume on headphone #2). I feel as if this is a necessary feature when using for dual connections, and glad the MEE supports it.Key Takeaways: Works with AirPods Pro 2, and when using two headsets the volume on each headset can be controlled independently.

I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 tablet for entertainment and internet access while traveling. It's a nice tablet, but the onboard Bluetooth doesn't support multicast so it can't connect with two sets of headphones simultaneously and I wanted my wife to be able to share in the entertainment while on the plane or on long layovers.I first tried a much more compact device I found on Amazon that claimed to work with two sets of headphones but was unable to make it work so I sent it back. Then, I found -this- device and couldn't be happier.I is bigger than the first device but is still small and it WORKS!! I've had no problems pairing with any of the Bluetooth headphones we own but I mainly wanted it to work with two identical pairs of JBL Tune 660NC headphones and it's perfect. While the volume was ok for home, I did add an inline amp for extra volume when on a plane. There is very little delay with the unit and the sound is solid with no breakup.Once each set of headphones is paired the first time, it's important to follow their directions as far as turn on both sets of headphones and -then- turn on this unit and re-pairing will work with no problems. If you're looking to be able to share your entertainment with someone while not bothering others around you, this product fills the bill!
