Do NOT buy this product it is absolutely worthless. They are the stiffest most laughable excuse for gauze . The weave of which is so ooen there is NO chance of any real absorbion. I also ordered 4inch squares and was sent 2 inch squares which are total worthless. Bad bad product. Dont waste your money.

These gauze sponges are way better than the ones available at the local box store. Come two to a sterile package, absorbent, and versatile.

Nice size for small diabetic ulcer, big toe. Use when drying the wound after applying liquid cleanser and also folded clean gauze in half to put on top of clean wound with iodine and then taped it all up for 2 days when I repeat the process. Keeping wound sterile is key to healing!

My friend recommended it and said it is used in her hospital as well.

I needed gauze pads as post-op dressing for a suture on foot. They worked, although thinner than what my doctor provided, so used two instead of one. Nice to have extras on had when needed for cuts, etc.

These are 4 stars for what I use them for... if I was using them for a wet wound, or to clean I might take off a star. Medline is not the top line of products but they are nice. In fact the visiting nurses use only medline products in my area. These are a open weave gauze, two gauze per package, one stacked on top of each other. One alone would not do much, and since you are purposely buying sterile I don’t think you would be separating them to save one! For my purpose: I use them dry for a CVL central line dressing. The gauze touches the hickman and the dry skin surrounding it. A piece of sterile Tegad*rm is then place md over the are you keep it occlusive and protect from moisture. There are some little tiny strands of fibers that sometimes does stay behind- but that is rare. I have the ability to buy other brands of gauze, perhaps those I have not tried before but I knew medline is safe for my purpose. I have bought other brands that were horrible! Loose strands, very thin- so, I stick with what I know. I find the $6 range a fair price, I cannot beat that at other medical supply sites for sterile gauze. If you do not need sterile save yourself some money and buy the packs of 200 non sterile gauze sponges. I do not think these are absorbent so I think they are best in a dry application or perhaps with sterile water to clean a very small wound.Overall, yes I would recommend these gauze and I have bought them twice now. I will continue to buy them unless the price point gets higher.

This product is exactly the same as the gauze I've seen in doctor's offices, whatever the brand. The box says exactly what the product is, so there are no surprises. These are ideal for a lot of different wound dressings. They work very well with saline solution (wet dressings), ointment, and nothing (dry covers). They also are perfect for small wound packing. They let a lot of air through, unless you use ointment. They unfold easily for a toe bandage the wraps over the end of the toe.We usually use them with the 3M Medipore tape (), which even works on feet. Paper tape like the 3M Micropore () works well as long as it gets changed twice a day and isn't on the bottom of the foot. The Medipore is much easier on the skin, conforms to body contours, and works better on the bottom of the foot. These work a lot better on larger wounds than band-aids, but take a little more skill to apply. The 100 sponges come 2 to a pack, but that's just the way all these producers package them. Two sponges are what you need for most wound dressings anyway. What JollyJimmy says is absolutely correct, but I don't see any problems with the way it's packaged. It's gauze.
