This is exactly what I was looking for in the home center stores but they just don't carry the kerf style door seals there. The individual price of each of the seals was less than most of the other cobble up seals from the home centers. It did require a little bit of trimming but easy enough to do with heavy duty scissors. I thought I would have to take the door off to install, but no. I just slipped it under the door and it pressed in easily without removing the door. We'll see about longevity after some time.

This product really does slide right now with your door with ease. It does a great job of sealing the bottom of the door as well. We installed a few months ago and so far we have not seen any breaks in the material.

It is effective at keeping the wind out, but doesn't look as advertised. The ad looks exctly like my old door bottom with one edge flush with the door edge and the other has a piece that is up over the door edge by an 8th inch and hangs down below a bit. The product I got has "wings" on each edge that stick almost straight out.

... except that it was 39 inches long instead of the 36 inches in description. A few minutes with a box cutter remedied that issue however.

This installed seamlessly on my 36in exterior door. The 32 inch door is another story. Not only do you have to cut it on one end to shorten it, but you have to also cut the little tabs that fit into the grooves on the bottom of the door, because those grooves don't extend all the way to the edge of the door. They aren't easy to cut out. I don't know how long these will last; for the price I'd like them to last at least 2 years.

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to find this piece. I didn't even know this thing existed until I took the door off to paint it. Now I know why I kept having a draft all winter long from this door. As you can see from the attached photo comparing the old with the new side by side, it was completely worn out after nearly twenty years of use.I wasn't certain that this was the right piece but it seemed to match the photo in the ad so I took a chance and hit pay dirt. The listing didn't mention that it doesn't slide into place but is simply inserted by pressing it in place. However, it worked perfectly which is the most important thing.

This product was not available locally so I was pleased to find it on Amazon. Easiest of install and works perfectly.

These were ordered to replace 20-year old sweeps on Stanley Steel Doors. They were relatively easy to install but they have not lasted more than a few months. They were installed in the fall and already the fins are breaking off. Expensive (cost more than three times the advertised price in the US) and made from poor material that is not flexible enough.

I had my handyman install this vinyl door sweep to two of my metal doors one being a front door with a storm door and the other interior door going to the garage. Both steel doors had worn out vinyl sweeps and were letting outside air in thru the bottom of the doors. In addition, there was no identification on the doors getting these sweeps that have a more universal fit made my research much easier. Very noticeable in the winter months when the winds blow with stormy weather. The handyman did need to take both doors off their hinges, remove the old vinyl sweep, which were able to slide off and than replaced with the new by sliding on. You may need to trim a bit of the new vinyl sweep with scissors. The doors were than hung back on their hinges. Both doors open and close but you may notice a bit more resistance with the new sweep but that will lessen overtime. I notice the resistance more from the front door that has a storm door in front of it. I no longer have noticeable drafts now that the new sweeps are in place. Both doors prior to the new install allowed air to come into the house from the outside. My handyman had not used this product before but was pleased that install went so well. His only difficulty was the garage door hinges had a tension spring and the prior install did not use long enough screws for grabbing the wood. He just took a bit more time and replaced the shorter screws with ones that were a longer to fit the door and hinge needs. I will definitely purchase again. Delivery was quick.
