How to use compasses:
Open the compasses to the radius desired for your circle.
Place the compass point on a piece of paper where you would like the center point of the circle to be.
Place the point of the pencil/lead on the paper.
Rotate the compass to mark a circle on the paper with the pencil.
Draw without lifting the point of the compass off the paper.
The rulers, protractor has been clear scaled, you can use it to measure all the thing accurately,more professional and efficient.

I am happy with the tools available in this set. The compass actually stays in place while you are drawing the circle/arc.This is a little thing, but does make it hard to use: the beveling on the ruler, protractor, etc, is such that it is impossible to pick up without scooting it to the edge of the desk. Weird but true.

I'm so glad I made this purchase. It was primarily for the compass but the other tool have come in handy too. They seem good quality for the price. I'd definitely recommend.

The geometry box arrived broken sadly - we realised it after opening the package. Ordered this green because my daughter likes green.
