I see a lot of negative reviews for magnetic products where it's pretty obvious that the people writing them have no idea how magnetism works or what the advertised strength claims are referring to. When they complain that certain products are too weak all I can do is roll my eyes. This is not that. The only way I would use this product is statically, and with 100% surface area contact with a thick piece of metal. If that is your case, I say have at it. Otherwise, find another solution.

I guess I didn't realize that not all magnetic sheets will stick to vehicles. This will stick to the fridge, or other decently thick steel surface, but the steel in car doors is too thin for this to have much holding power. Not even going to attempt to drive with them - they barely hang on - they fall off when I touch them.Sticks great to the fridge, though. I guess my kids can have this one.

I got a couple of these mats to cover my Sawstop tablesaw's iron top. These stick quite well to it and helps prevent the top from getting rusty when not in use. I had to use two of the mats since my top is 27" wide and I used Tuck tape to put them together. Works great! I'm going to do something similar for my bandsaw table with the leftover pieces.

Worked really well to cover a return vent cover once I flattened up this magnetic sheet. I first cut it to size and then placed it on the vent but it would not stick. Also my vent is painted so that probably did not help either. As product came rolled up in a roll I then decided to roll it in the opposite direction to straighten it up and used a hair dryer for about 30 seconds or so too, to loosen it up. That worked very well as the product layed much more flat and did not curl up as before. So if you covering a return air vent and the product does not seem to stick try this method.

I used this to cover my leaky sunroof on my car. It worked perfectly for that purpose. I spray painted it black and cut it to fit over the sunroof. The first time i put it on the car i made the mistake of not making sure there were no gaps, so when i drove off it flew off the car. I was able to retrieve it and since then I only drive with it when i staying local and i never go faster than 55 mph while it is on and I make sure there are absolutely no gaps between the vinyl and the car now so it stays put. It even helps if the car is slightly wet and hot when you put it on ... it makes an even more secure seal. I've tested it through some terrible rain storms and it kept my car dry!Update: I have not removed this vinyl from the car since buying it in July and it seems to stick and secure better over time. After a few days using it on the car in the summer heat and summer rains it has become almost like a sticker on the car, the seal between the vinyl and the car got stronger ... so much so that it became too difficult to remove when i needed to get on the highway. So i stopped taking it off the car. Now its been 5 months and it has never blown off again, and never leaked. And I never remove it even on the highway doing 80mph.UPDATE: Turns out my sunroof didn't need replacing as so many mechanics had told me, instead I just needed to have the sunroof drains blown out. Apparently not many people know that there are drain tubes around your sunroof and they need to be kept clear so that rain water runs down safely to the ground, when those drain tubes clog, the water backs up into your car. Cost to clear the drains? Just $25! Or you can do it yourself with an Air can. I'm so glad i used this vinyl cover until i was able to figure out this inexpensive solution.

Perfect for what I needed it for. My sunroof leaks when it rains hard or long so this was my solution for now. This is nice & large. I've gone up to 60 MPH and it stays put...and hey..no leaking. The sign shop wanted $80 for a slightly smaller piece. Ha!

I bought this to cover my leaky sunroof going on the reviews of others. When I got it I trimmed it to fit so it had at least a 2" reach past the each edge. I drove around with it with no issues and was quite happy with it -- until yesterday. On the rainy drive to work it flew off somewhere, never to be seen again. I was doing maybe 60 MPH on the highway and it came off. The rain must have somehow gotten underneath and broke the magnetic seal. I'm disappointed because I was hoping this would do the trick. If it had a stronger magnetic force it would be perfect. Be warned.

I ordered because someone had posted it would work to keep the rain out of my moonroof/floorboard. It didn't.However, it's standard grade and good merchandise. Just didn't work for keeping the rain out...just some fyi for others. Doesn't always work.

My landlady keeps the heat at a ridiculous level and I've been going crazy every winter for the last 4 years. I wake up literally soaking wet. I walked into my living-room this past November, just before Thanksgiving and was totally amazed. It was 81 degrees in my house. She tells me she's cold. I decided enough was enough and bought these to completely cover the heating vents in my bedroom, kitchen and living-room. I just left the one in the bathroom open. These sheets are great because they cover the entire vent and are magnetic. I also bought small magnets...really powerful little ones...also from Amazon...just to ensure no air gets through. The difference is just amazing. Best of all, they come off so easily if the temperature really goes down to the teens and I need the heat to be stronger again. So she can throw her money away by wasting the oil. But I'll be comfortable, all because of a couple of magnetic sheets.

Sticks to steel okay and is easy to cut. Magnet is very weak. I used it under an rc car to stop bolts from rolling and it was useless. Only black side has any magnetism. took a couple days in the sun to spread it out and not crack.

And guess what my purpose was? My son's car had a leaky sun roof. I bought this roll and it was the perfect size to just lay over the sun roof on top of the car roof, to SEAL it so it no longer leaked! Sounds crazy, why not just use silcon caulking you say? Well several reasons. 1 - this just lifts off in 5 seconds so he can use the sun roof - it still works and is great for the GOOD weather. But when he comes home, throw this over the sunroof like a blanket - and it seals it while parked any time there is a treat of rain. This prevented if from ever leaking and extended the life of the entire CAR for the CHEAP! And if we sell it, we can include this "magnet blanket" as a free gift to the new owner, it's up to them if they want to fix the sun roof (megabucks) or seal it shut with caulking and forever negate it being used, but this was a great idea that served a great purpose!
