Beautifully made. The ends are two different sizes to fit regular and wide mouth mason jars which it genius. It also worked well pounding cabbage while it was in a bowl.

Went to a friends house to can and she had one of these. I was in awe!! Came home and immediately purchased one for myself. I don't know what I would do without it. I use it constantly !! Wonderful product - great design - easy to wash and I like the wood that it is made of. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!

I love this for packing my preserved lemons.Works perfectly and is a pretty piece for display in my kitchen. Not a gadget that needs to hidden in an already messy kitchen drawer.

This MASONTOPS PICKLE PACKER, made of acacia wood, is so beautiful, you could display it as an artwork on a desk or bookshelf. The wood is very hard, smooth, and dense, with lovely graining.Mine was purchased for tamping down homemade sauerkraut in a mason jar. It works really well for that purpose, or for any jar-packing task you may encounter while doing home canning. The tamper stands by itself on a countertop. It has two different-sized ends, for reaching into larger or smaller jar mouths. The tamper is NOT dishwasher safe. You hand wash it and dry it. You should also oil it occasionally (with a food-grade oil) just like you do with other wooden kitchen utensils (e.g., cutting boards).

Nice and solid, feels good in your hand and gets the job done. It's a bit heavy but that could be a good thing for some. I like that you can use both ends and each is a different size. I also like this wood and that its coated so water or otherwise doesn't soak in. I have used it to pack sauerkraut in jars, used it to break up brittle pieces and I pounded some nuts down with it for candy making, worked great.
