I bought this as a gift for my wife, she has had a Marcato machine for many years (I think she got it from her Mom about 20 years ago). Of course, it was manually operated. I helped her a few times, and the machine seemed a bit "clunky" to use, trying to crank, keep pasta rolling through and not sticking or ball especially when cutting. The first thing she said was Wow, this really cuts well (and maybe something about the old one just being dull). Her first "apprehension" was wondering about motor speed, as it turns out, the speed was very well thought out because it is not too slow nor too fast. They nailed it.My only issue (from a mechanical or technical standpoint) is that the motor housing appears to be chrome plated plastic that does not feel nearly as solid or substantial as the rest of the machine. Everything else seems great, just the housing appears (it may be fine and just aesthetics) to be of considerably less quality than the other parts. Also, there is a "seam" on top of the motor, along with the on-off switch, and not being certain about the true quality of the motor housing, we are apprehensive about the possibility of flour getting into the motor.Since those "negative" factors are unknowns to me, I am still going with five stars based on the quality of the machine mechanical parts (rollers, cutters, housing) and ease of use. A plus is that the attachments from her old machine will fit the new one.

Worked great for a day of pasta dough making. I have only used it the one day but it worked like a champ. I am so glad I spent the extra for the motorized version. It's definitely worth it!

What a joy it is making fresh pasts. The taste, the texture.... nothing store bought can compare. Atlas makes a very high quality machine. Yes it is a tad pricey but oh so worth every penny. The electric motor makes the task so much more easier. Beign elderly I appreciate that.
