Did the job well for trimming spent flowers from crepe myrtle tree. Not sure it would cut up to 1" branch. But easily cut 1/4" stems.

The plastic pole bent after 2 uses...Buyer be ware...this is not a good product. I should've sent it back when I had the chance...
