This was the least expensive, hand cranked coffee grinder I could find with a ceramic grinder. When I bought it, it was just $10. Overall, I love it for the price. The hand crank is connected to the gear that grinds the coffee by the handle—which is made of thick plastic. Eventually I see this will be where it will break, but I also see that—when it happens—it can be fixed with epoxy or superglue. When I had a cheap (~$25) electric coffee grinder, I found that over 50% of the ground coffee was not of a uniform size. But with this manual crank coffee grinder I find that over 90% of the ground coffee is of uniform size. In fact, most of the larger sized grounds are towards the end of the grinding. Therefore, my recommendation is to put more beans than you want to use into the grinder, then use what you need. That way you will never come to the end of the grinding, and almost all of the grounds will be of uniform size.

This is a nice grinder and I am not trying to say anything negative when I explain the things I ran into. But, they can be negative, just depending on your perspective.Overall, it does a good job of grinding beans. And I do like that it is easy to grind just what you want to use right now. But you need to be careful of how you hold it. If you hold it by the very bottom, the grind setting can change on you while you grind (depending on where you have it set). So you need to hold it above the arrow that points to your grind selection. Also, you need to be careful of the top/lid. It is not a separate piece that connects to the body of the grinder. It is connected to the handle. All is good except you can accidentally pull the lid off when grinding if you are not paying close attention. For me, the best method has been to sit the grinder on the counter and hold it above the grind marking. Then that helps me keep it level and not pull the handle up as I turn it.So those things can be an issue at first, but after you get the knack of things, they are no longer an issue at all. They are mostly just things that you need to be aware of so you are not blind sided by them....and don't spill the beans!

I’m really impressed with this coffee grinder! The craftsmanship is excellent—it feels sturdy and well-built, with a smooth hand crank that makes grinding effortless. The ceramic burr does a great job of grinding beans evenly, whether I’m making espresso or French press. I also love the adjustable settings, which allow me to get the perfect grind size every time. Plus, it’s compact and easy to carry, making it great for both home use and travel. I’ve been using it daily, and it works like a charm. Highly recommended!

I like it. It’s cool. The fact that I don’t have to pay for unnecessary electricity to make fresh coffee. It only takes a few minutes to grind the amount I want while watching T.V. Plus, my hands and forearms get a bit of a workout, which is good. Something about grinding your own coffee feels more satisfying when you drink it. Better than just pressing a button.

I like the idea of it, but I have to grind the coffee beans twice to get fine coffee grounds.
