This grinder is as good as it looks. It takes less than half of the effort required with a smaller ceramic burr model, and grinds twice as fast. The only advantage of the cheaper ceramic grinders is their somewhat lower weight.I have used hand grinders for 10 years, and they all eventually fail because of their plastic components. This model is a step change in design for a marginal cost premium.Highly recommend as a new grinder or a preventive replacement for a cheap ceramic-plastic design.

Several years ago I had an inexpensive ceramic burr manual coffee grinder that I eventually adapted to work with my cordless electric drill so it wouldn't take so long to grind my coffee beans. Using this grinder felt more like I was smashing the beans than grinding them. Eventually I returned to just grinding my beans at the grocery store.A few weeks ago I found myself looking at coffee grinders again and decided that to save a few bucks I would go with a manual rather than electric. No potential of a motor failure with a manual either. After looking at what was available I came across the NewlukPro but wondered why it was so inexpensive considering it looked just like many which cost a whole lot more. The reviews were really good too, so I decided to purchase one.It arrived quickly, even without Prime, and even before opening the package I noticed that this thing was heavy, an indication to me that it was not a throw-away kind of thing.I've been using it now for a week and I am happy to report this is now one of two or three of my favorite all time kitchen tools. I can feel the beans being cut rather than smashed. A full load of beans takes less than a minute to grind at a medium coarse setting. Spreading store-bought and ground coffee on a paper towel leaves fines in the texture of the towel whereas coffee ground with the NewlukPro leaves hardly any. I have been reading that there are those who say they can taste a difference between coffee made with a quality grinder and coffee made with a grinder that produces less consistent size grounds, and I have figured that difference is all in their minds. Well, I now think that with the same beans I've been buying and grinding at the store, I really can taste an improvement in flavor.Looking at the quality of parts of this grinder and feeling how they all work together, I can think of no way there could be an improvement in design or manufacture. Why would anyone pay eighty to two hundred dollars for a grinder of this same general design? I'd give it more than five stars if I could. I love it.

My main coffee setup is a Rancilliio Sylvia machine with a Breville auto dosing grinder, a great combination for espresso, lattes, etc, however if I am traveling or just want an "other" or regular coffee that's a problem as I keep my grinder hopper full of Lavazza Super Cream. I must have looked at 10 or 15 manual burr grinders when looking for an alternative...I noticed that most of the common components / parts of these units (costing from $25 to over $120. seemed to look similar ( I suspect they share certain parts like the steel burrs, etc. Since I had not used such a grinder in the past I thought I would try a basic / well reviewed model to start.I have to say I am more than happy with this NewlukPro M6 portable burr grinder!! It's buit like a tank all of machined aluminum with steel mechanism and burr....I was warned about the actual "work" to grind17 grams of coffee but I kind of like the "interactive" process in that one cup of coffee and the grind settings are easy to use. (Fine espresso grind does take much longer so I normally used a coarser grind for my AeroPress (perfect match for this grinder-about 100 turns for 17-18 grams of coffee). Sounds likea lot of work but very easy and "zen like" for that first great cup.I would enthusiastically recommend this great little grinder for travel or single cup use!! Very Happy with it!

Très solide, facile à laver et à utiliser, mais juste un peu long à moudre, entre 4 et 5 minutes

I had to back this out an extra rotation or two to get appropriate coarseness for my French press cold brew. Now that I have it set where I like it works great. Good quality and it fits about 20G of dark roast coffee in the chamber.

Funziona perfettamente per macinare finemente il caffè per la macchina espresso tipo "Gaggia". Ci si impiega un po' di tempo, ma la grana del caffè è sottile al punto giusto, più sottile di quella dei normali macinini da caffè
Might buy that

Easy to set even with the directions . Got to make espresso grind and it does just that . Love how comfortable it is in my hand a day how easy it is to turn. If I fill it up with enough beans there's enough to make at least two doubles of espresso . Can't ask for anything more . Will update later if it doesn't hold up but the burr seems to be grinding nice and smooth.Update: stopped grinding after about 2 weeks . Took apart ,cleaned up ,reset it and tried course to fine ,nothing came out . Sent back for refund ,hopefully new unit doesn't freeze up like first did .
