The XVJ04Z is engineered to deliver the power and performance of a corded jig saw, but without the hassles of a cord. It is ideal for professional woodworkers, cabinetry makers, specialized residential construction workers and any pro-contractor seeking a best-in-class cordless jig saw.
The XVJ04Z has 3 orbital settings plus straight cutting for faster and more accurate cuts in a variety of materials. The variable speed control dial (0-3,000 SPM) enables users to match the speed to the application. In addition, the efficient brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge than similar non-brushless tools. Electronic controls efficiently use battery energy to match the changing demands of the application for increased power and speed when needed. And since there are no carbon brushes, the brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life.
Convenience features include a “tool-less” blade change system that allows for faster blade installation and removal, a large 2-finger variable speed trigger with lock-on button, and dual L.E.D. lights to illuminate the work area. The base bevels and locks from 0° to 45° left or right for more precise bevel cuts. It weighs only 5.5 lbs. with battery (sold separately).

届いてから、外国仕様の機器と分かりました。取説が読めずに苦労しました、特にブレードの脱着には日本語の取説が必要かと思います（ネットで調べました）。使用感は良いのですが「国内向けの同タイプ（代替品）」がもっと安く携帯ケースまで付属だったのでもっと調べてから購入すべきだっと悔やんでいます。

Have been cutting wood/metal with jigsaw’s since the 80’s. After using this on a recent project, I grabbed my other 2 corded jigsaws and told my wife, “donate these”. This is the smoothest and vertically straightest jigsaw I have ever used!

i have had two other corded jig saws. this saw puts them in the junk pile. great cutting , has long battery life. Well worth the money.

This saw is extremely smooth with the lowest vibration I can recall feeling in a cutting tool this size. I had concerns about the power that would be available from an 18V battery but found the cutting power of this Jig saw to be surprisingly powerful. I do recommend buying 4 or 5 amp batteries to insure your saw stays powered until you are done with your project. I absolutely love the the ability to twist lock to install and remove blades. I have always found Makita to make quality tools that last and this Jig Saw continues to uphold that tradition. I fully expect this tool to last a very, very long time.

The jigsaw was a great deal and arrived early, it was a flawless transaction.The saw is incredibly accurate and smooth, has good power, and is very easy to use. Using the included makita blades, it feels like you’re just gliding the saw across the surface of the wood. Very satisfying!

Cordless convenience in another excellent Makita tool. Quick and secure blade change, lighted, moderate weight with battery attached, very high rpm, cuts great. I did see reviews equating this Makita tool to a Bosch corded jig saw; Although the Makita is very good, it is nowhere near the phenomenal performance of the Bosch corded jigsaw, one of the power tools of all time. That being said I highly recommend the Makita, especially if you’re looking for the convenience of cordless operation.
