This little drill is a great time saver. It can be set to drill the whole the appropriate depth for the screw, and automatically bevel the edges so the screw head will fit flush with the surface. Before I found this little guy, it was a two step process. Drill, then bevel.

I drilled 240 holes in white oak treads. The last was just as clean as the first. theholes plugged and sanded beautifully.I little friendly advice. Take your time when drilling. Use a slower speed and pull the bit up and let it clear the hole so you don’t get it to hit. The heat will dull the cutter and if you burn the edge you will not be able to hide the wrong it leaves.

I build various election sign frames and other structures using 2"x3" and 2"x4" lumber. In the past I used one drill bit for drilling pilot holes and another drill bit for cutting a countersink dimple. I wasted a lot of time switching between those two bits until I bought this product.This drill bit allows me to drill a pilot hole for a Torx screw with a countersink dimple in a single step. Awesome! It can also be used with a quick change chuck so I can easily and quickly change between this bit that I use for drilling pilot holes and the Torx 25 bit that I use to drive the Torx screws for my frames.

Used this to mount the brackets for a cooler on my boat. It did a great job both drilling the hole and countersink without any chipping or cracking.

I've been using the same set of Snappy driver/drill bits for over 25 years and they are the best. If a bit breaks you can switch it out with a bit you buy at the lumber yard/hardware store. The counter sink and driver chuck has never failed me, not like some competing brands whose bits are pressed into the driver chuck and can spin out. Snappy bits are money well spent. I purchased this countersink bit because I installed a tapered bit from a competitor's tapered countersink set that, as I described above, spun out of the chuck, into my Snappy 9/64" countersink chuck. The competitor's bit had a knurl on it, which was supposed to keep it in its original chuck. With hard use the tapered bit broke in my snappy countersink chuck. I thought I would need to replace the chuck because I thought I had ruined it putting the tapered bit in it. So I ordered this replacement set to complete my original 25 year old set. After I purchased this new countersink set I attempted to remove the broken bit from my original countersink bit. I did in fact manage to remove it, so now I have two 9/64" countersink bits. I know this is a wordy review, but Snappy is a good product, well made and tool you can use happily for years if not decades. I am in the construction industry and use these bits A LOT.

It’s the best drill bit anyone ever invented. To me. Truly excellent American quality. As a cabinet maker I’ve been working with it for almost 20 years. Sadly lost my last one on job and sadly you can’t get them from local hardware store anymore. Thanks goodness there is Amazon out there.

Seems like a quality product in terms of materials and craftsmanship. I will look to Snappy again if I need a different size countersink bit. I’m not sure if it’s my own lack of experience with the tool and really how it should be, but the countersink for me, was much too large for the #8 screw head I was sinking. Once I realized I just needed to not drill as deep to get a tighter fit, it worked fine for me, but it takes away from the user friendly nature. In the end it worked for my needs and I’d buy again.
