This works really well and was easy to set up. The instructions are very clear and informative on what and what not to do. The magnet that holds the sensor to the glass is very powerful. It's also rubber-coated to keep it from sliding on the glass, therefore holding the sensor securely. Very simple to use. Just hook everything up, fill your reservoir, and the unit does the rest.Very impressed. This will save me a lot of time and trouble and will also keep the water level stable at all times. When I get the chance, I would like to install this system on some of my other tanks as well.UPDATE: After using this unit just a about two weeks, I am so impressed with it that I am ordering two more for my other tanks. This system is especially great if going on vacation - I have one coming up next month where I will be away for almost two weeks, and I don't want to have to worry about the water levels, which can dip substantially this time of year with indoor heating. If you get one of these systems, you will be very happy not having to lug buckets of water over your head to top off your tanks.

This is an absolute game-changer for anyone serious about fishkeeping! It works perfectly with my freshwater tanks, using dual optical sensors to maintain water levels with precision. Once set up, it runs seamlessly without you having to worry about water evaporation. The setup is straightforward, and the system is reliable—no malfunctions or overflow issues so far. It seems like it's built to last, and you can trust it to keep your tank in top shape. While it is a bit pricier, the convenience and peace of mind it offers make it totally worth the investment. If you’re passionate about fishkeeping, this is a useful gadget. It’s simple, effective, and does exactly what you need it to do!

Doesn't matter if you have a saltwater or freshwater tank, this is a must have item especially if your house is dry which eventually pulls water from your fish tank. Setup is under ten minutes. Make sure when you do set this up, use the piece to keep the water flowing in case of power loss so the water doesn't go back into the reservoir tank. This requires you to have a tank under your tank. So for me, I have 18+ fish tanks. Any tank over 40 pounds, I have a 25 gallon tank under the tank filled with water and a heater. The pump is small but very powerful to get the water up and into your tank. Works fine for both frame and frameless tanks. This is 100% as advertised.

I use this in a 32g BioCube and it's the perfect ATO for that tank. Easily fits in the sump with the magnet holding it well. The pause button on the controller is a huge plus; on my old ATO I'd have to get on the floor amongst a rats nest of wires to shut it off before doing a water change. This ATO is as accurate as my last on re. keeping the water level correct. The buzzer feature is nice for when things go amiss; I haven't seen that happen yet (fortunately). A good system that I'd recommend.

I have 15 nano tanks. 13 SW and 2 fw. Each one has a dedicated ato. I ordered the updated Magtool ATO as one of my fw tanks was being topped off manually. This thing is a nice piece of kit. Simple to install (I done quite a few similar optical sensor atos and the premise behind each desgon is quite similar). I love the low profile optical sensor. It's quite small and easy to see. It also allows for usage in a display tank in lieu of a sump or in an aio chamber. Works perfectly. Fills to the desired level and shuts off. The big update is that on the power commander, you can press a button which will deactivate the device. Nice when you want to change water and don't want to worry about your stone engaging as soon as you start siphoning out water.

An essential add to any aquarist's arsenal. With a reservoir of treated water, this keeps your tank in perfect condition for times of well tuned automation or vacations away, so your keepers have only to show up and feed. My only regret is taking so long to install it.
