Got an older aquarium at a yard sale. It was an odd size. Ordered the topper with a feeding door. It’s great. Very pleased with this item. Will definitely buy again if in need of a lid.

It shipped to me without the main piece of mesh, so instead of a lid it became a useless magnetic rim for the top of my terrarium that does absolutely nothing.

The door (6”x8”) was a bit big for my narrow aquarium, so I just used the net and some metal spring clips I had at home. Maybe someday I will try to attach the magnet strips to my Very Narrow aquarium upper frame rail?

I spent 2 hours basically creating it from scratch since the kit gives you materials and bare bones instructions. I ended up with something barely functional and aesthetically disappointing and I had to cut parts out so the cords for my filter and heater could go through and could still clamp the light to the side. With the net on, the light doesn’t come through as well so the tank is significantly darker. Do not recommend.

Like having an aquarium in the home to watch the fish. As anyone knows, fish jump and, if out the top, may find fish out of water on the floor. Setting up a new aquarium in new home and found another way to put a lid on it. Plus, I like magnetic things and a good build. Has a red tape magnetic strip that you run around the top of the tank. I cut four strips to install that portion. Then, the groovy magnetic strip goes on top for attraction, and you may want to cut a sliver short at the vertices. The black fishnet mesh lays on top, then is constrained by a PE strip with grooves that snap onto the previous strips. Easy install till the PE strip. Takes a bit to diagonal it, pull, and snap on. If the meeting of the strips below in the vertices is tight, the PE strip may not snap on, so I had to cut a sliver on the groovy magnetic strip so the PE strip could snap on down in the vertices. Designed corner pieces go on as in slide and snap down. Window came as a whole piece, so take the back frame off and get ready for the tiniest screws ever with provided screwdriver. Secure, flip back over, open the door, and cut the mesh. Back on the tank, it goes. Enjoyed the build, like the idea of magnetism to keep the fish in, and surprisingly sturdy once the corners snapped on. It does flex if you lay it somewhere, as in a slight curve on the long sides. It easily peels off the tank top. It is cost-effective if you have a series of tanks needing covering. Plenty of strips were given to do the project. It does take some patience.
