Sounds better and louder than i expected for the money spent. By quite a bit. They are loud, even at max volume i didn’t notice any audible distortion or flub and the actual sound quality isnt that bad. Id def buy again

I have had these speakers for nearly 2 weeks . I specifically bought the CBT 5 inch model with bluetooth. Short review : The speakers sound phenomenal for the price point, and should fit into any setup you are looking for.As far as Bluetooth goes the sound has been great and there has been no feedback from the speakers even with poor placement. I do unfortunately have to leave them too close to each other with my current room setup which can sometimes provide unwanted noise with some speakers, but this has not been a problem. The Bluetooth may drop for a second but that's par for the course with Bluetooth. As far as analogue setup goes I have been using them with my Audio Technica LP120. The sound has been fantastic from them. The bass is punchy, but lacking excessive vibration which is important due to my poor placement of the record player above the speakers. I have not had any rumble shake my player around, which is great for me, but If you're looking for room shakers, you may not want these. This note may be unnecessary but these speakers do not play nice with my DAC. I tried playing FLAC files from my phone through the DAC into the speakers, but the sound was muted and poor quality. I did not find it necessary anyways to run it through the DAC because the speakers do have the built in preamp, but it may be an issue for you if this is something you wanted to do.As a "budget audiophile" I can recommend these speakers for pretty much any setup you could want. They get loud and keep the sound fidelity sounding great. Also with the volume low you will still hear the bass, highs and lows. I see many complaints about the speakers dying an early death, if this is an issue for me I will update the review accordingly.

I've been a hobby musician for over a decade, but I recently set up a small recording space in my home. Before owning these I was using various Logitech computer speakers or Studio Beats by Dre to monitor all of my audio and recordings. These Mackies are a game changer. At a price considerably lower than most professional studio headphones, these monitors deliver. The audio is clear and accurate, and after reading some reviews complaining about a lack of low ends, I was pleasantly surprised at the punch these have. As far as using these as media/bluetooth speakers, they are equally impressive. You hear everything the artist wanted you to hear. I personally had a few minor stutters in the audio streaming from my phone at about 15 feet, but that could be from any number of causes. I've also used them with my Playstation 4, they are especially great with any music centric games.

Please note I bought these speakers about 8 months ago, so I've been using them for quite a while now and I can honestly say that I love em'I don't know much about speakers but what I do know is they are far better that any speakers I ever had, not that they are super loud or super bassy but I feel like I get a very clear and good sound representation. I feel like the music sound way better that what I was used to.They are not that loud, they're near field monitors so don't think these will be filling a large living room as I thought. If you like to listen to hip hop and loud longs at super high volume, these are not for you.For me they're pefect, all around very good multimedia speakers that still pack quite a punch.

My original review written shortly after purchasing these speakers (read below) was accurate, having used a lot of cheap multimedia/gaming speakers for years. Initially, as my old review read (and thanks to Amazon for reminding me), they worked great. Loved the Bluetooth option; I will miss it.However, after 2-years of regular, 6-days per week, 8-hours per day use, I started experiencing a terrible reverb coming from the right speaker. At lower volumes, they sound really good. I also liked that they weren't too big - the cabinet. They fit my stands perfectly.I too contacted Mackie, but they were out of warranty, so there wasn't anything they would/could do. That's a shame. I went out and bought two Yamaha HS7 studio monitors and after listening to these, using the PreSonus Studio 26C interface (bypasses the audio card on my board), these Mackie CR4BT speakers seem like toys. All I am saying is buyer beware. Even if you want them for game play, at higher volumes and +bass ranges, you may experience the same issues as I did. Now, I did not experience the same power issues as others - not even close. But, as a editor who also records voice overs, I really should have upgraded to pro monitors years ago.Good luck with your purchase!ORIGINAL REVIEW: It's been a very long time since I worked with Mackie reference monitors, having used them almost exclusively in the late-90s through the new millennium while working at a recording studio. So, after a disastrous go with a set of Logitech Z337 computer speakers, I decided to go with a different brand. During research, I came across the Mackie CR4BT studio monitors with Bluetooth and dang! Now those are speakers! Easy to setup and the 4" size are not too big for a desk. I'm an editor, so I have an 8-foot desk with room to spare, but even on a regular sized desk, they'd fit (maybe). For those who have seen pics of these speakers, don't let the green or blue circles around the tweeter and mid-range fool you. They do not light up, but the green is a nice demarcation separating what would otherwise be black on black. The volume button on the front and the Bluetooth logo (if you get the Bluetooth model) do light up green though, in case you're wondering. To test the speakers, I looked up a few good songs with decent balance, space, attack and decay, rhythm, timing, mid-range quality and treble quality, dynamic range, bass control, detail, stereo focus, etc., and not surprising, these Mackie CR4BT's did a great job! In some cases, I was very delighted. As for video, at 44,100 Hz and higher, they too did a great job whether connected to my Mac or PC workstations. Overall, I believe, as far as sound quality is concerned, you'd be very pleased. The size - meh! I can see how someone might not like the larger, bookshelf style speakers, used to slim, multimedia speakers, BUT, give them a try. You can always place them on a shelf over your workstation.Right now, as I type this, the glorious sounds of Alice Coltrane are flowing through these Mackies... wow baby, wow!

Exelente sonido y utilidad, los ocupo como monitores de home studio pero la verdad la calidad del sonido en lo que hago ha subido bastante, estuve viendo y consultando bastante para hacer una compra sabia, y la verdad ha sido más de lo que esperaba

These are incredible speakers for the price. Unbelievable amount of bass. I'm no professional in production but my longtime housemate nearly is and has been using his Rokit 5's for years, and even HE was blown away with the performance of these speakers. I was extremely nervous that these were too good to be true at their pricepoint but was pleasantly mistaken. And anyone who says there isn't enough bass is out of their mind, their might actually be too much... and I'm a big rap/hip hop guy. Would absolutely recommend these speakers to anyone looking to get the ball rolling on a production career.

When these first arrived at my home studio, I wondered if I had made a mistake... The sound quality was not what I expected, seemed to be mid heavy and bass shy with obvious compression. Then, I realized, the Bluetooth support must lack the newest codecs or the ones the speakers support don't match the better codecs on either my Google Pixel phone or Microsoft Surface 3 tablet (with dock).So... I switched to 1/8" stereo and RCA plugs... WOW!! Amazing, the sound quality I was expecting from a Mackie speaker, and, at $2xx a pair, these are well worth the price paid! The bass response is clean and not artificial. The mids are clear and fluid, highs are silky smooth. Now, granted, you can get even better sound and volume out of KRKs or JBL Pros, BUT you won't find a better speaker pair for home recording at this price point. While I've seen a number of cases reported where these speakers don't last long, I've noticed that the back of the powered speaker can get pretty hot. So, I don't leave the main power switch in the back on all the time, just when I'm using them. I'll bet that increases the life span, we'll see.
