The cheap 20-second one is just plain bad. I tried two different ones (Amazon sent a replacement) with the same results. Side by side tests prove that the units give wildly inaccurate and inconsistent results. They start to improve after they "warm up" after 5-6 consecutive readings but at best they still vary 0.3 degrees either way randomly. So you can't know if you have a fever or not. Jeez, a DIGITAL ELECTRONIC thermometer is 1970s technology and should be better than this. Stay away. A hand on the forehead will tell you more than this.

Works great once you get used to it. Wait for display to show LO before putting it in the mouth. I like things simple.
