I like these screws clearly with the flat head not your traditional socket cap but it is easy to see from the picture what you are getting. I used these on a wood project and they provided a great finish. My only note is given the size limitations and depth of the socket recess you can strip them if you are not careful.At this point for most screws I prefer stainless when I can so if I need them in an exposure situation I don't have to worry. The fact they are then nicely black finished on top, they are quite nice for exposed screws.

I picked through these screws looking for any flaws and found none. It looks like roughly 100 but I wasn't about to count them all to confirm. The quality seems very good and uniform, including the quality of the black finish. No finish flaws found. The heads on these screws are wide for M4 which is nice.The plastic case is nice and should last a long time, not like the cheap brittle cases that hardware sometimes is packaged in.The threads are deep enough to bite and hold. While these screws *may* work without pre-drilling for softer metals like aluminum, it's really better to pre-drill a hole slightly too small and then drive the screw. Especially with the hex drive which makes the self-tapping function more difficult, and as for trying to drive these into iron or steel without pre-drilling, with a little 2mm hex wrench? Forget it. Pre-drill iron or steel which is ultimately easier and yields a better result. That's what I've found with all self-tapping metal screws.I would prefer a larger 2.5mm hex drive to the 2mm hex drive on these, but for M4 screws 2mm drive does work. For finished living areas where appearance matters the smaller 2mm hex hole may actually look a bit nicer.Nothing regrettable about these screws. Solid, quality product.

I really wanted hard-to-find hex drive screws in black but no local stores have them. The flat (non-point) version is easier to find but I need the sharp point since I was driving these into wood. I made wood-slatted ceiling and these are holding up the slats while looking more finished than regular phillips-head screws. I wish they had a matte version but these are shiny. They still look good and I will be using more.
