I have 2 small dogs that are…. Well, nasty! I am moving to an apartment from a large house. I was very worried about them biting children or other dogs. These muzzles fit well and eliminate that possibility! They allowed me to keep my dogs in a new environment! Highly recommended.

The neck adjustment had plenty of adjustment to make sure it was secure around the neck. The snout didn't have much adjustment but was able to barely get it loose enough so the dog could still open their mouth some. The material was bulkier but softer than our last muzzle. Our last muzzle didn't have much snout or neck adjustment and the neck adjustment would not lock down so we had to modify it with zip ties to tighten the neck sufficiently. We are happy with this muzzle since we didn't have to make any modification after we got the correct size. These snout adjustment does run small so we had to get small instead of an extra small.

My wife and I rescued a Siberian Husky when she was six years old, that was eight years ago, making her fourteen years old now as I type this in June of 2024. Unfortunately, she didn't have the best life before we got her and was left in a crate when her old family was working or sleeping, leaving her around a mere 4 hours a day to be free. For any dog that would be cruel, but for a Siberian Husky, a breed with super-high energy, it was torture. This led to her having several behavior problems that we had to overcome over time. Although she has never been in a crate since and thinks our king-size bed is her bed. Then again, she thinks the same for our full-size couch or any of the three huge doggy beds positioned in various places in our living room so she can lay up next to myself ("Daddy") or her momma (my wife) or to look out the window. Now when we first got her she bit me in the face. It was 100% my fault as she had just been 'fixed' three days previously, and was asleep on the couch laying next to me with her head right up against my leg but not on it. Well, we had a husky that looked just like her that we had to put down a month earlier, and with that dog she would lay the same way just further up with her head on my lap, so without thinking I leaned over this new husky and pulled her up so her head would be on my lap, or at least that was my intent. Well, she was sleeping and I startled her. I was a new face to her as we had only had her a couple of days at this point, add to that how I may have inadvertently hurt where she was stitched up on her belly from just getting fixed, and she reacted as most dogs would have in that situation and she bit me in the face. It was bad. As soon as it happened I could see that she had a look on her face where she knew she had done something bad and of course, I yelled out as it hurt badly as a large portion of my cheek was no longer attached to my face. I ended up getting most of it stitched up and years later everything is fine. You would never even know it happened, it healed that well surprisingly (then again I have a beard so who knows lol). Anyway, of course, I didn't scold her as it was 100% my fault. I knew better but wasn't thinking at the moment. She never bit any human since but she did go after another husky mix that we got at 7 weeks old back 5 years ago. She didn't hurt her badly (she could have easily killed her if she wanted to) but was teaching the puppy what wasn't proper behavior the only way that a dog can teach that lesson as they don't talk like people do after all. Otherwise, we know not to lean over her as it freaks her out, likely something from her past before we had her, and she does not like to get her nails cut, or to be brushed, although with that she has gotten a lot better if its me doing the brushing as I am alpha, and although she doesn't like it and tells me so the way a husky can express their emotions unlike any other dog (other than a Malamute) she allows it for a short time nevertheless. When it comes to certain things though like cutting the hair off from under her paws, nail trims, or vet visits where a shot has to be given, it is better to muzzle her than to not as Huskies have a wildness to them sometimes due to their high energy. They have high instincts that will show themselves with certain things such as their high prey drive, or say if they hear a mole 2 feet down in your yard (or anyone else's yard if you happen to be walking them down the street.... smh) they will just start digging throwing massive amounts of dirt within seconds, and that instinctive nature sometimes comes out as an instantaneous reaction, sometimes before the message of what they already did got to their brain to decide if it was a good idea or not to follow through with that instinctive action that already happened lol.... and I have to laugh at that as I am guilty of the same thing from time to time ( and no, not digging for moles in my neighbor's yard). So anyway, this mesh dog muzzle was perfect for her as a precautionary thing, kind of like keeping a good dog, good type of thing, basically along the same lines as why we lock the doors on our vehicles. Chances are that nobody will come along and try to open your door to steal anything left inside of it worth of value... but we lock our doors anyway, to keep an honest person honest (lol). Now, I would NOT recommend this type if you have a dog that will absolutely, 100% use whatever is in its vicinity as they would a rare steak, as this just wouldn't be strong enough IMO, and could be removed if the dog was given enough time to mess with it. That type of dog would need the leather type of muzzle with buckles. This type though suits the purpose for short-term things on a normally good dog who may get scared and bite by instinct, such as other dogs or people at the veterinarian's office, or whatnot.

This muzzle was delivered on July 27th, was used 3 times. During those three times it was only on for 5 minutes. I had thought this would be a good idea since my one pup has been wounding the other by biting. But, I couldn't keep the thing on for longer than 5 minutes due to his sneaky behavior and finding a way to get his lower jaw out.Needless to say, I won't be able to find out since August 8th the muzzle broke. One moment the pup had the muzzle on, the next moment he was chewing it like a chew toy. I'm not sure if he used his paws, but even then his nails are trimmed due to a recent grooming. My theory is tugging a little on it and it gave out since the strap right by the snout muzzle is what gave out. A faulty hem job perhaps? Nonetheless, I won't be purchasing another one. Not only did this happen, but the velcro at the bottom could give smart dogs a way to get it off due to the lack of hold.

We have the grumpiest middle-aged doggo in the world when it comes time to either wipe out his eyes -- we live in the south, it's still hot and allergies never go away -- or we need to trim his nails -- he's a maltease terrier, and we don't let his fur grow long, he has a "puppy" cut, so we have to trim his fur above his eyes -- he growls and bites, so my son ordered this muzzle -- it's so easy to get on and works great -- of course he growls, because he can no longer bite -- he calls them love nibbles !! Plus, he is such a whiner -- he is a white dog and apparently white dogs (according to our vet) get this skin condition, so he has special shampoo for his fur and his skin, but the trick is, you have to dry him very quickly after a bath -- if you put that doggo in the bathtub he starts screaming like somebody's killing him, and he's in there alone while I get his expensive medicated shampoo (our vet loves us -- said he went to the bahamas thanks to our barky, bitey dog!!) -- not anymore !! but then when it's over, he gets a cookie -- so I don't feel sorry for him at all -- nor me, because my fingers are intact !! -- seriously, this is a great product for our needs for a small dog -- it slips right on and holds fast, much to his distaste -- I wonder if it would fit on our cat -- it takes two of us to hold her down -- and she's scrawny as can be -- she always has food down, it's just her anatomy -- but to apply the flea medication on the back of her neck which takes about 10 seconds, we literally wear oven mitts, because she grows extra legs with extended monster claws -- if anybody actually reads this far and it works on your cat, please leave a comment. But we're extremely pleased with it for our dog -- Peace to all - Patricia
