I bought this product as I wanted a guitar that I could just give away after I move and not feel bad about it but in the end, I ended up getting a 2nd hand, branded guitar and returning this one. I really liked the accessories this comes with. The bag is padded, the strap looks cool, and there are other useful things in the package. The guitar itself sounded nice but I feel like the low E string was about to start buzzing after a few months of use. The looks of the guitar were not like in the photo, mine came brownish and the finish looked like a sticker or some weird paint that would just come off easily. It didn't even have the fake wood finish like in the photo. Nevertheless, it's great for a beginner, especially for this price. The strings were not too harsh on the fingers either. If you want to start practising, learn chords, or just need a guitar that you won't feel bad if it gets damaged i.e. during camping, this is the right product.

Been practicing guitar since 1969. Not a pro but have played for many years. I have owned 25+ guitars, mostly acoustic.I got this today and will update this review as time goes on. With that said:This guitar is really Ok for a beginner. The first things I noticed were the really bad strings....easy to fix but another $5 and they could have given you decent strings. My finger tips are black after 5 minutes of playing. The frets are semi-sharp at the edges of the neck. Fixable but takes time, the right tool and attention to detail. There is a resonant buzz in the electronics (not plugged in to an amp). With no amp I can hear it over playing on certain notes. With all this, I still like the guitar. The finish is nice but not the best, The tone quality is great for a beginner.Things to do are: Better strings Take the time to smooth out the edges of the frets Disassemble the electronics and figure out/fix the buzzReplace the non-functional electronic tunerThe action is good out of the box and it plays nice. Was kind of difficult to tune with the nasty strings. We'll see how it sounds/plays with better strings. All in all, not a bad purchase but not the best either. For the price, I would recommend this guitar to a beginner but it will need some work and more $ to make it sound/play it's best.Update: I still think this is a great guitar for a beginner (notice I said great). The electronic tuner is junk....I suggest investing in a SNARK Super Tight. Less than 20 and works as it should. The strings mellowed out after a few sessions and quit making my fingers black....not horrible, just not good. I will change them for Elixers or something coated. Still, they sound Ok.It doesn't seem to stay in tune but it could be the strings and not the guitar itself. The tuning machines are Ok but have a lot of slop in them. If you overshoot, you will need to start over tuning that string. I haven't been able to find the buzz. I glued down everything in the electronics and still had a buzz with certain notes. After the guitar hung on the wall for a few weeks I noticed the buzz went away. Therefore, I can't tell you how to fix it if you have it.I would totally recommend this as a beginners guitar. It sounds and plays much better than the price would indicate. I bumped up my rating one star. One last update.....Really like this guitar for the price. Not a Gibson or Martin but awesome for the money. I beat this guitar taking it everywhere on camping trips etc. It stays in tun for the most part with decent strings and plays awesome for the price line. Would absolutely recommend this as a first guitar for a beginner. You will not be disappointed. Bumped up one more star......give it a 5 for a beginner or as a campfire guitar.

I wanted this guitar because it is GORGEOUS and incredibly priced for an acoustic electric. I'm a novice player - I've been playing for years, but very casually and I'll be honest that I have little natural talent, so learning to play is a lot of work for me. For that reason I need A GUITAR THA PLAYS EASY and LOOKS GREAT, and makes me just want to pick it up every day. This guitar totally does that.SUMMARY: This is a BEAUTIFUL INSTRUMENT that plays really nicely in both acoustic and electric modes, and it comes with nice accessories. It's as WELL BUILT as my Lyon, SOUNDS AS GOOD as my wife's Baby Taylor (which you see next to it in one of the pics), and LOOKS BETTER than both. It’s currently my favorite guitar of our six instruments. And I’ve always wanted an acoustic electric, and finding one so good looking at this price – I couldn’t resist.DETAILS:LOOKS. This thing looks amazing. I love the horse theme, so FUN AND HAPPY, which matters to me - I play to be happy. The WOOD IS BEAUTIFUL, with a very interesting grayish brown top stain. The dark almost classic sunburst edges really compliment the mahogany fretboard. And the back of the neck, it says it is okoume Wood... I never heard of that, but I looked it up and it's from Africa, commonly used for its beauty but low price. Love it! It has such a soft grain, looks so smooth. And that SOUNDHOLE ROSETTE - the colors are awesome. The INLAY HORSE HEAD on the 12th fret is such a subtle, classy touch. The only thing I don't love is the white banding around the edge of the top and along the sides but that's just me - it's seems to add a country look that isn't my style, but it's fine and my wife really likes it. The cutaway at the base of the neck gives it a nice look, but I'm not good enough yet to play that high, so for me it is all aesthetic. The TUNING PEGS are also gorgeous, a deep metal color almost like hematite – love them. And the backs came covered in removable plastic – this thing was packed with care to arrive flawless – so great.SIZE & FEEL. The graphic showed me how tall and wide it was, and I knew it was a standard full size dreadnaught style. I was hoping that, like some acoustic electric hybrids, the body might be a bit thinner, and it is but just 1/4 thinner body than my Lyon. So definitely full size. It has built in strap buttons, which is common but important.SOUND. It sounds fantastic, in both acoustic and electric. I knew this because the listing had a video of someone playing, and two reviews already had better players than I playing it, so you can hear the sound there. I can add this – I tuned it up, played out 20 minutes, then set it down for a few hours. With most guitars you would then need to tune it again, but it was perfectly in tune when I picked it up again! Then I left it all night, and when I got up on the morning to play it was 90% still in tune! Amazing – all my new guitars and ukuleles have needed excessive tuning over the first week. I couldn’t be more impressed with this. I tried it with two different small practice amps and it sounds great with my admittedly small repertoire.ACCESSORIES. This guitar came with a lot of accessories. I didn't need the extra strings because I like to put these really light strings on my guitars to make the action easier, but it's great that it came with extras. The pics are your usual celluloid pics - they are fine, thin pics – I got 2 yellows, 2 pinks, and a green. I always put monster grips on my pics - pics are slippery. :)The strap is very nice. Soft. The color is great and it feels really strong and well made. Usually when I buy a guitar the first thing I do is hunt for a new strap, but I love this one. It's flexible in the look, in that it feels a bit Southwest to match the horse branding, but also is bright and even has something of a 70s vibe to it with the brown and orange, and fits my more tropical preference with all the orange. And it looks great with that colorful soundhole rosette, which might be my fave thing about this guitar… I love a nice rosette. The capo is simple, with a built in bridge peg puller -fine. The cable works, and the buffing cloth is a nice touch. I’m glad it didn’t include a tuner because I’m amassing a collection of those. It did come with sandpaper, I assume to sand the fret ends, but my ends were already smooth so I didn’t need it. And it came with a hex to adjust the neck, which I hope never to have to do. I thought, from the picture, it might come with an action measuring tool, though that is not listed in the description, and it does not.The case is super nice. It has a beautiful horse logo on it and an outside pocket. But the cool thing is that inside it has a Velcro strap to hold the guitar neck in place – what a great touch that none of my other cases have! And let me say again how well packed this was – fretboard cover paper, padding, bag in a box in a box. Nice job, Horse!FUN DISCOVERY: When I ordered this I didn't know what the square "silicon mute" was. It arrived and I was intrigued so I looked it up. I learned something new that makes me happy! This is for practicing the guitar without disturbing others. And it's awesome! I practice while my son plays his video games and I love that I can do it quietly and not disturb him, but still play normally. It mutes the strings, even if you strum normally – love it.I rely on Amazon reviews to do my shopping, so I like my reviews to really be honest. And I'll be honest... I hunted for something to criticize about this guitar and found nothing. Okay, my wife pointed out one small spot on the side of the case where the stitching got doubled up and is a bit odd (see photo). That's it. That's all I could find. I'm just so excited to play this, and I love the case so much that now I want to take my guitar somewhere just to use the case. :DFINAL WORDS:If you are looking for an entry level or intermediate hybrid guitar, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more beautiful looking and sounding instrument anywhere near this price point. It's going to be one of my faves to both play and display.

Sure, this isn't a professional guitar, however, for beginner to intermediate, this is a perfect guitar. Great sound, not as deep as a higher costing guitar but hard to tell the difference. It does produce a wide ranging sound and is much louder than my old guitar. Definitely plan on keeping this one around for quite a while. Only issue was that the tuner did not work. Anyways, there is more than one way to work that since you can use an app on your phone to tune just as well. Love the colour as well. Great that it came with an extra set of strings, picks and a nice soft case which makes it easy to transport to play with friends. I will be using for a long time.

Where to start!? This ROCKS for the price. The projection is impressive!I highly recommend! It comes with everything to get you started.I bought it as a living room/campfire guitar and it is indeed a workHORSE!Cons: Cheap plastics may need upgrading later. The smell of glue is intense.
