Very easy to install. In order to work correctly, you have to perform a tailgate height reset procedure. Once this was done, they worked better than the original.

I would have given this item a 5 star review if not for one small problem. Also, I want to give a shout out to YouTube for posting a demonstration of the install. When I got to the right side after completing the left strut, I was dismayed to discover that the piece attaching to the vehicle was MISSING the small metal knob that captures the hydraulic strut. I had to cut this off from the old one that I was replacing by using a Dremel tool with a metal cutoff wheel. That was painstaking and stressful. Fortunately I was able to do it successfully. I finished the install and the product worked perfectly. Still, I was a bit miffed I had to go through that because someone was careless when packaging. I called Amazon Customer Service and was offered a $25 promotional credit for future purposes. I really appreciate that. So, yes, I recommend this product. But before you start, make sure you inspect ALL of the pieces.

This fit my 2018 Santa Fe XL, but it does half the job. It responds to the button press to raise the liftgate, but does not close with any of the buttons inside the car, on the liftgate or the key fob

These were extremely easy to replace. The factory ones were making a popping noise and sometimes would stop the door so we would have to operate it manually. These were here fast. The factory actuators would not come off the old brackets, even with a pry bar. But, this set came with new brackets. A 10mm socket and extension later and they were replaced. It was very simple to change these. They plugged right in to the factory socket and came with their own rubber grommet already attached to the wiring. Hopefully they will last a while. Price is definitely better than oem.

The installation was pretty simple, though the struts did not come with instructions: prop up the rear hatch, remove the plastic connection covers on the left and right sides of the liftgate interior, disconnect the strut wiring connectors, remove old struts (total of 8 10mm bolts), install the rubber cushions in the new bottom brackets (a twisting motion while pushing the rubber fitting in), install the new brackets, snap the strut ball joints onto the connectors with finger pressure (it helps to have someone push the liftgate up to near maximum extension), connect the left and right electrical connectors. Reset the liftgate electronics by holding in the liftgate open button until you hear 4 beeps followed by one more beep. If power struts were the problem, the electric lift/close functions should now work. Finish the job by seating the rubber grommets on the wiring and reinstalling the interior access covers. I completed one strut before starting the other, and installation took about 1 hour. I will update my review if I have any relaibility problems.

Our lift was damaged and this replacement worked great. It saved us a lot of money as we only had to pay for the install. Our original one was bent and the door was crooked, and it still is, but it works great and is not a noticeable difference. I would recommend this product.

This product installed relatively easily and worked for the first 10 or so openings, however at some point the socket popped off the ball at the vehicle side while opening and the liftgate would not open all the way. We then pressed the button to close the lift gate not knowing the reason for the failed opening and when the liftgate closed the end of the actuator had extended and was jammed between the door and the car frame and caused damage to our vehicle when the liftgate tried to close. Once I discovered the cause of the error I reseated the socket on the ball however the actuator will no longer stay seated and pops off every time now so this product is no longer functional.I reached out to try to get a replacement but was informed I was outside of my return window. I would not suggest buying this product but if you do - exercise the actuator often and early so it fails inside your return window timeframe!!
