Great replacement lift supports. You don’t realize how nice it is to have a working lift until you don’t—these make it an easy fix. Simple to install and work perfectly.

Great price, seem well made, and a perfect fit for my 2004 Chevy Tahoe liftgate. Easy to install- open the lift gate, pry off the "C" clips from the old struts using a small screwdriver. When you pop off the old strut, the lift gate will want to drop, and it's pretty heavy; best to get a friend to hold it up. DO NOT REMOVE THE "C" CLIPS FROM THE NEW STRUTS: just pop them on to the little ball joints, they snap right in place. Instant support of the lift gate, in fact now it takes some effort to close it, as it should. Good product, excellent value, easy to install, A+++

When colder weather hits you may notice that your older lift struts aren’t doing their job, so these are good replacements. Even when I had only one replaced, it was doing a good job of holding up the window.Note that there are two different sized connectors — sockets for the balls protruding from the gate and on the window — and these need to be attached to the correct end. The slightly smaller ball is on the window, so get that sorted out before you try to change them.Secondly, don’t try to partially pull off the retaining clips before installation. These should pop on with the clips in place. You only need to retract them when removing the struts. I made the mistake of trying to pull back on the new one and it ended up moving one end of the clip further into the socket, thus obstructing the hole and making installation harder than it needed to be.Remove the old ones struts using a small hook to pull back on the retaining clips, but when putting these new ones in just pop them in place — AFTER you make sure you’ve got the correct sized end connecting to the right mounting ball.
