A simple, yet well-built 2-in-1 combination of both exit and emergency lamps. The COMBOJR2 exit sign combo is equipped with a maintenance-free 3.6V NiCad battery that provides 90 minutes of emergency lighting in case of a power failure. It works on either 120 or 277 VAC power. Each lamp head is equipped with 12 SMD LEDs for excellent lighting. Includes 2 faceplates that allow for single or double-sided view; each faceplate has field installable directional chevrons. Optional Remote Head Capable model allows for additional 3.6V remote lamp heads to be connected and wired at a different location where additional lighting is needed

I was in my shop the other day working and the power went out due to some work on the power lines. I didn't realize they were going to cut the power that day. My shop 30x50 foot shop is pitch dark without the lights on and I was lucky I wasn't too far from the door. I could see a little light through cracks in the garage door so I was able to get to it. I had kept the floor picked up so I didn't trip on anything, luckily.After that I realized I needed some kind of emergency lighting, just in case. I only have the one regular door so I thought an Exit sign with emergency lighting would be perfect. I found this one on Amazon and ordered it several days ago. I installed it today in conjunction with a motion sensor light which is above the door on the outside of the shop.All I had to do was splice two wires into the other light and put in two screws into the 2x6 above the door. The motion sensor light, and now this one are on a light switch that I keep on all the time. So all I have to do is turn the switch off to test it.The unit is very light and pretty sturdy even though it is plastic. I had some trouble getting the back off since it fits very snug. Once I got it off I was able to install it without any trouble. The emergency lights work very well. Not like daylight, but I can find my way to the door without any trouble now.I'd buy another one if I needed to. Of course is has only been in a day so I don't know about the longevity. I am sure it will be fine.
