EVDANCE Level 1 Charger for Tesla

tesla level 1 charger
  • Cost-efficient - Opt for a 16A charger before pricier high-current or wall-mounted options to gauge daily charging demands economically. In emergencies, locate sockets easily for charging when distant from charging stations.

  • Charging at 240V for 10 hours adds about 100-120 miles, while charging at 120V for 10 hours adds about 30-50 miles. Charging at 5-15/5-20 sockets results in slower charging speeds, suitable for short commutes and owners with enough time for charging.

  • The charger includes safety features such as leakage and overheating protection, along with IP66 waterproof, ideal for unsupervised overnight charging. Its charging cable runs 10°F cooler than a 40A charger.Remember: Secure plug-to-socket connection.

  • Cover the connector with the cap (to reduce oxidation) and unplug the plug after charging.

  • a. Check if there are current restrictions on the car's onboard system; the charger syncs with these settings (current limits and scheduled charging). b. Check if other device is on the same circuit to prevent automatic reduction of charging current.

The charger worked perfectly to charge my tesla model 3 until it stopped yesterday. Purchased in October 2024. Only got about 4 months of use out of it.

I’ve had the original Tesla charger and this one and have seen no difference. Works for my model 3. Charging speed is the same and easy to use, works on normal outlets. And not as expensive.

Using this to top off my 2023 Model 3. The button opens the charge port and it works perfectly, every time. Well built and uses oversized wire. Ignore the negative reviews complaining about slow charging or not pulling 15 amps from a 15 amp socket. Using a level 1 charger is going to be slow, no matter the brand. As for only pulling 12 amps @ 120 volts from a 15amp socket…Canadian electrical code states that a continuous load may only be a maximum of 80% of a circuit capacity and since 12 is 80% of 15, that means that this charger actually complies with the Canadian electrical code - beware of a charger that pulls the full circuit load. Excellent value for the money.

Excellent product, and excellent customer service. Considering this is half the price of the Tesla mobile connector and 5ft longer, you can't go wrong!

This works great with my 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor. I have a 240v 20A service hooked up an it charges at 3.8kW and 15mph as advertised. Those reporting it charges slow are not using two pole 240v service but a standard one pole 120v plug at 15A or 20A. After about 8 months I had a charger failure. The manufacture was quick to reply and got a replacement sent out right away. They also wanted the defective charger back for diagnosis, which shows they're trying to improve the product even more by figuring out what went wrong. We're considering getting a second EV and we'll be getting another EVDANCE charger for sure.

I'm going to start with a caveat regarding price as I noticed it fluctuates quite often. I got this unit during Prime Day sales at $150 with a $50 coupon. I think it was one of those moments when it priced low and but vendor forgot to remove the coupon. It was gone after I made the purchase. Hooray me.Regardless of that, this EVDance unit is a solid piece of kit. Nothing about it feels cheap. Sure it doesn't have an LCD screen or accompanying app. But you don't need it. Everything is controlled via my Tesla app anyway. I got this unit as a travel companion to the Level II TMC that is permanently plugged to my NEMA 6-50 socket.I've used it a few times now with the regular 120V socket (NEMA 5-15). It connects right away with my car just like the TMC. Charging is slow but that's Level I for ya. I can't comment on the 6-20 plug as I don't have an equivalent socket for it. Unit doesn't get hot during charging. The cable is chubby like the TMC. I didn't see the need for a J1772 charge head since I don't have any non-Tesla EV. It's also one less interface to deal with. Afterall future EVs are adopting NACS anyway so I don't see any reason to invest in a dying format. The accompanying bag would be useful to keep everything tidy.Overall I am glad I decided on this EVDance NACS EVSE.

I’ve been using this charger for about one month. We use it to charge a 14kWh plug-in hybrid battery and a 62kWh Model 3 battery. The cable is long enough to reach both vehicles in our garage even with the 240V outlet on one side of the garage.Plugged in to a 240V outlet, it charges between 3.5 to 4 kW/hour, which is plenty for our needs. It’s not as fast as more expensive Level 2 chargers, but it’s much faster than Level 1 charging. It easily brings the hybrid battery to full charge in the evening and can bring the Tesla battery to full charge overnight. It also seems to be pretty efficient delivering 96-98% of the electricity from the wall to the battery. Our Level 1 chargers are between 85-88% efficient.I can’t speak to the longevity of the EVDance charger, but I have high hopes to be using this charger every day for years to come.

Purchased this with a coupon for $129.99 and the price just dropped another $10. A phenomenal deal.We have two Teslas at our house along with a fast Tesla wall connector (charger), connected to 240V. My wife commutes and we typically plug her car in every day, or every other. I rarely drive so I wanted a charger that didn't require any electrical work to function and this fits the bill perfectly. It's not fast as it could be as I have it on a standard 120V outlet, but it will give you a little over 1% an hour. If I needed a large high-speed charge I would just plug in the wall connector.I paired it with this product so I could hang the cable and NACS connector and have a sort of permanent install.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D22B6PGTWe are so happy we are buying another for road trips.

The biggest problem is Amazon itself: I put this charger in my basket, and left it there to compare with other chargers, only to discover I had bought it in the morning. As I needed a charger I thought i'd give it a try and it works well (tried it gently on 8A and will increase to 10 A next time), so probably won't send back. 6.1 M is quite short, though.

"I've been using the Tesla Level 1 Charger for a day now, and it's been a fantastic addition to my charging setup. The 16Amp capability ensures a decent charging speed, and the flexibility to use both 110V and 240V is really convenient. The 25-foot cable length provides ample reach, allowing me to charge my Tesla Model 3 easily, whether parked in the garage or driveway. The charger's portability is another standout feature, making it easy to take along on road trips or use at different locations. The inclusion of both NEMA 6-20 and NEMA 5-15 plugs adds versatility, accommodating various electrical outlets without requiring additional adapters.Overall, I'm very pleased with the performance and quality of this home charger. It's reliable, efficient, and offers great value for the price. Highly recommended for Tesla owners looking for a dependable charging solution!"
