DON'T BUY THIS UNIT!!!! I didn't try this unit for a while after I purchased it, or I would have returned it. I wanted to use it to calibrate my small diesel engine and adjust my tachometer accordingly. Whether at Idle or at speed the unit gives no usable information. At idle the engine should be running around 650 RPM, I get readings from 302 to 9005 on the meter. Same for running the engine at speed, Should be around 2000 RPM, but again I get readings from 500 to well over 9000. And the readings are not consistent. As an example when I first depress the trigger the RPM may read 4037 and next moment 501 and then 9783 RPM. I followed the instructions and have tried the unit at least a half dozen times and still no good. AS I said at the start, Don't buy this unit.

On time delivery, perfect packaging, exactly as ordered. I would have given it 5 stars but the first strip I used the paper backing separated and I had to peal it off twice. Not a big problem and it stuck well and stayed in place at 2,000 rpm.

This handheld tachometer is accurate, inexpensive and small enough to fit into your pocket. Just apply a small piece of reflective tape to the rotating object you wish to measure, turn on the machine, use the laser to aim the tachometer at the rotating reflective tape and you will get an accurate RPM measurement.

Given the low price, I wasn't sure it would be great, but I'm finding that the tacometer works quite well and is easy to use. Even without reflective tape, I get solid readings. I like the laser to tell you where you're measuring.

No se los recomiendo, da datos al azar que no corresponden con la realidad, los reflejantes son inoperantes, no sirve! no desperdicien su dinero, producto basura.

When it works, one out of 10 tries, it is accurate. Inconsistant use and instructions are NO HELP.

Purchased this compact and attractive unit solely to track rpm for a CNC Spindle. The case is very nice, and the instructions are reasonably clear. After finding the best mounting spot for the included reflective tape, first readings were a bit jumpy, but, since I had read the review before purchase, I knew I needed to adjust my aim. With a little hand training, I could get steady and consistent readings. Unfortunately, its not quite a "muscle-memory" response yet, so each session requires a moment or two of retraining with the inevitable reflection into my face. I wish it was as easy as a 'point and read' temperature probe, but I understand the necessity of aligning the source and receiver.Would buy again.

Never had one before, so i cant compare it to others, but I have used this particular one for a few projects now. I have a fan I control with a motor that reports it RPM that I use as a quick vaerification that its working and it alaays seems to dtect within just a few RPM of the motor claims. I then use this to look at my fans/motors that dont report their rpms to make sure they are still in spec and Ive never had an issue. Helped me confirm a problem motor which was having an impact on my system tests. Worked in a dark enviornment, so i didnt have any lighting issues others had mentioned, and the build quality seems adaquate for a hobbyist or infrequent use as I am.
