The ink is very good. The ink is so smooth that it feels like I have a different nib on the pen. I like the color, its somewhere in between a dark and light blue. I also like how they have the tissues at the bottom of the bottle, its very convenient for wiping off the excess ink when refilling. I havent seen this feature anywhere else. Also, the ink bottle has a well at the bottom of it so when the bottle is running empty, it is easy for you to get the last bit of ink from inside it. I am using a Lammy Al-star by the way.

For me black ink should be exactly that; black. There is no shading. It is a flat, black ink. It dries relatively quickly which is a plus. There has been no bleeding on the paper. This ink is well worth the money. The bottle design allows you to fill the pen without tipping the bottle. It comes with a roll of blotter paper built into the container.

This ink has a lovely shimmer, gorgeous blackberry color that makes me thirsty and there’s ALOT OF IT esp for the price! AND it has built in blotter/tester paper! Wow!

Lamy inks are probably the best modern inks these days. Their color palette may be limited and this blue black is really not so dark blue as I expected it to be. It has more of a dark grey-blue-green hue that may not be to everybody’s liking. It’s more than professional for use in office setting if there is a need. Yet, the ink quality is superb, very consistent, flow is great, the bottle is innovative and practical. In terms of value it’s hard to beat Lamy. I wish it came in bigger bottles as I’m using it up quickly.

I would think that all inks are pretty much equal but it is not true actually. Some are too watery, some have a nicer color after drying, some are not drying well, etc...I have a very nice Montblanc fountain pen which I forgot about with the time. It can be quite a hassle to use because fountain pens often leak, get your fingers inked up. Anyway, I exhumed it from his drawer recently because I decided to restart writing by hand as much as possible. On a side note, this needs practice and my handwriting was getting uglier by the days...So using a nice pen would be my encouragement to write by hand but I could not find my ink anymore.A quick search on Amazon and I chose the Lamy bottled ink after reading raving reviews.Anyway, I have now been using this pen and ink since a few weeks and I cannot say enough how pleased I am with it.My Montblanc fountain pen would tend to leak and it did at the beginning with this ink. Not anymore though.As well, the pen would tend to scratch the paper and the writing was far from fluid. Not anymore...In clear, this ink gives a very nice color, makes the writing very fluid and nice, dries well.I do not care much for the blotting paper because I do not refill every day and when I do, I use larger pieces of paper.In any case, five star worth!
