Came 1 day later than expected, the black box is sealed and the pen was just loose in the brown box? Weird. Seems decent overall from a noob.

I bought the fine first , but it just didn't have the feel I was looking for . I thought I would try the medium point to see if it was better . I am glad I did ! It writes so smooth and just bold enough to stand out , but not so bole it looks like I used a Sharpie , lol !!

I've used a lot of pens. I hate the scratchy feeling of anything old like pencils and crayons but this is so smooth. The feel of holding it is so smooth and kinda makes you forced to write well. Perfect for a signing and writing pen.

I got it because Im materialistic as hell and wanted a fancy pen. This one is actually pretty fun to write with and feels good in the hand due to the triangular grip to make sure you hold these types of pens correctly, making sure the tip is at the right angleThe ink works great too, doesn’t pool so long as you arent pressing down too long. Definitely an edc pen for me

I am a review reader and researcher when it comes to buying anything new. Especially something I’ve never used. And every review and demo of Lamy fountain pens has said the same thing. “Amazing quality instruments at drastically low prices.” Sure, you can get a ten pack of ball point pens for 3 dollars or whatever, but you’re really just throwing money in the garbage. Whereas a fountain pen, although a bit more expensive, becomes something of a keepsake. Pair it with a high quality bottled ink and a converter, and your writing becomes less of a “thing to do” and more of an event. I’ve had zero issues with this pen. Writing is solid, flow is perfect.Just know that if you’re new to using a fountain pen, it doesn’t write the same as a ball point or click pen. Using a fountain pen, you will notice that you’ll have to write somewhat slower as you’re relying on capillary action to draw the ink into the nib. But for me, that just adds to my enjoyment as I can focus more on what and how I’m writing. It caused me to think about the words I’m putting to paper. But I digress. Buy a Lamy, you will NOT regret it.Also, pardon my awful handwriting. At least it’s way better than it was pre fountain pen usage. Haha.

I was very excited about this but it is really disappointing and I think the pen I received is defective because Many reviews say that the tip flows well and writes smoothly, but what I got is a very poor tip that slides with difficulty on the paper. In fact, another pen at a price of $1 outperforms the Lamy, unfortunately. What is even more disappointing is that I did not try it until 5 months after receiving it, so I cannot return it. Before I chose and bought it, I read a lot of admiration for this pen, so I am confident that what I got is defective.

Great pen. Easy to write with and feel like quality materials. Ink flows smoothly and easily and doesn't smudge as easily as other fountain pens have. Solid clip and well ballanced pen overall. Made in Germany.Surprised how well thought out the shipping packing from Lamy is. The pen was safe from a dozen large soup cans that amazon put in with it inside its composite shipping case.

As someone new to fountain pens the Lamy safari perked my ears up, cheap, popular, and great quality? Impossible. Well I was wrong. This pen had yet to leak, it's flow is amazing, the ink it's self is almost velvety, the grip helps you hold it the right way. It fits well in the hand, while being small enough to tuck in a breast pocket.

Disclaimer: 3 stars is given as my own personal preference for the pen itself. It is well made. I was recommended towards the Lamy by a die-hard Lamy friend of mine.PROS:-Well made. Mine was clean of any unfinished seams-View port is wooooonderful. Seriously. I love pens that show the ink level.-Simple packaging, easy to open.-Writes consistently and with an even line, no variation in line weight. Even ink distribution.-Some people don't like the formed grip because their finger posture is not a standard 'tripod.' I use it with the standard tripod and another hold, and personally have no discomfort with the grip.-The pen requires almost no pressure to write, the lightest of pressures does the trick.Personal CONS:-I prefer a heavier pen weight. The Lamy Safari is heavier than your average click pen, but lighter than a metal one. If you dislike light pens, this probably won't be as comfortable in your hand.-It might just be the ink, but I dislike the ink marks the pen makes... it just feels off to me. I am, however, used to writing with dip pens, so that's probably why.-To me, the Lamy feels like how a felttip pen would write, and I do not like that. I prefer a pen that flows across the paper without any 'feedback.'-The nib was somewhat scratchy when first opened. I filed it a touch with sandpaper and it feels a little better to me.-Buying a converter is ridiculously expensive. I mean, really - five bucks just to buy one little plastic part other companies sell much cheaper? Oh, and it's proprietary - so you have to buy Lamy brand, of course, unless you happen to know another brand that just-so-happens to be compatible with the Lamy Safari.Overall: A well made pen, and pretty fair price when you consider it comes with 6 ink cartridges. If you like a light-weight, thicker grip, this is probably a good fit for your hand. If you want a smooth-flowing pen that doesn't feel just like writing with a normal felt tip or ballpoint... look elsewhere.
