A fountain pen that my nine year granddaughter uses and loves. Being made of plastic made me question the quality but I learned of the amazing engineering inside that plastic body on YouTube. It’s a quality pen but I think it is a little overpriced, $30-35. I think it should go about $10 less. I agree with my granddaughter, it’s a good pen!

Practical, and very satisfying to write with. I bought 2 the normal one for everyday use and a special edition (for my collection really)

As a person who loves their pens this one is amazing. It is lightweight, and high quality. The ink window lines perfectly with the cut out everytime. The grip is ergonomically designed for proper hold. The ink channel lets the perfect amount of ink to flow where it does not over saturate, and allows for me to write even very small lettering. The nib is high quality, and does not feel as scratchy as other fountain pens I've personally used. It is great quality at a very reasonable price. This is a perfect pen for beginners, and anyone who wants a nice pen to write with.

I love a medium nib that writes smoothly when it comes to fountain pens and this delivers. I have a few others and I like these using cartridges or the converter to use my own fun inks. I ordered blue Lamy cartridges and they work beautifully. It feels smooth on the paper and the clip on the cap keeps it from rolling away when I set it down which is a nice touch. It’s light in the hand so it would work great for writing for a long time such as notes in a class or a good hardy daily pen at work. The color is bright and cheery and easy to find in my purse. I am a huge fan and plan on getting more of these. One difference in this pen over others in this series is the clip is red as well not silver which gives it a very modern look. This pen does come with one cartridge in the pen that you need to start before using by removing a cardboard circlet. The cartridge it comes with is the blue you see in my demonstration of writing.

Smooth writing, good flow, and durable for the daily wear. I only write with a fountain pen (in cursive) and people think I’m weird, but until you have had a quality fountain in your grip, you haven’t experienced penmanship. Great entry pen for the future enthusiast and great for diehards like me who don’t want to bang up an expensive pen in daily life on a job site.

Dobrze wykonane pióro. Stalówka EF nie pisze zbyt gładko, ale nie jest to bardzo uciążliwe.

I love the idea of a Lamy Safari and the style depending on the color, and instantly gravitated toward the matte, monochrome cream edition. considering all the mixed reviews online about quality, nib variation, style, feedback, balance, etc., I wasn’t sure what to expect.Since I’d only used Pilot pens beforehand, which were all extremely slippery/glassy to write with, so the pencil-like feedback of a Lamy nib took some getting used to, but once I did, I fell head over heels in love with this thing. It’s a smooth writer — not scratchy, just not “glassy” if that makes sense, like my hand doesn’t slip n slide out of control, but there isn’t enough resistance to cause hand fatigue. It turned me onto feedback in general; now any glassy-feeling pens feel kind of lifeless. So I spent a few days obsessing over it, until I ran into a couple problems.1. I grip my pen weird due to having hypermobile thumbs, so the triangular grip gives me a blister. I fixed this with a rubber pen grip. (See pic)2. I have small handwriting, so I tend to need very fine nibs. European nibs (e.g. Lamy & Kaweco) run about a size or two larger than Japanese nibs (e.g. Pilot, Sailor, Platinum). So a Lamy EF should, in theory, write about the same as a Pilot M.Since this one only came in Fine, I ordered a Lamy black-coated steel EF nib separately for about $13 and swapped it out (super easy to do, using a piece of scotch tape to pull it off the end). It writes so much better than the stock steel ones for some reason. Problem solved.3. I didn’t want to believe what I’d read about Lamy’s lacking quality control, but ended up experiencing it firsthand. This one writes and feels totally different than a Safari Vista EF, which writes and feels totally different than an LX EF, even though all the nibs are identical. I decided to return the Vista & LX because I liked the Safari so much more. This makes me think getting a Lamy pen is basically a gamble.Note: Having three near-identical Lamy pens to compare & swap nibs with helped me figure out that some of the QC issues people are experiencing aren’t just about the nibs, but the feeds, which are more difficult & expensive to replace.4. One night it was writing perfectly. By the next morning, enough ink was flowing out that my writing looked like blunt Sharpie.I tried troubleshooting by cleaning the feed and gently pushing the tines together, but that didn’t help. I got the same result when I put on a different EF nib.So, my feed is busted. I don’t know what happened to it over the course of a couple days as I was very gentle with it. Since I don’t have the experience/knowledge to fully troubleshoot further, I requested a replacement (for the whole pen) through Amazon.I’m super bummed out about it, but hopeful that the replacement will perform as intended and be as dependable as I understand Lamy pens can be. Itching to write with it again, albeit a little nervous. Will update when I receive the replacement.

ive never had a fountain pen and this is a nice one. You just have to put in a ink cartridge so no complication. Sometimes it does skip but not too much that may be my fault though.
