I really like this little bin for my kitchen compost. I bought the small one and thought it might be too small, but it's actually perfect. I like to empty it every 3-4 days anyway to prevent any smells, and that timing is just right with this size. It's not airtight, but the lid fits well and I haven't noticed any issues with smell. It was a good pricepoint for the quality, and it's so convenient! I love that it hooks onto the cabinet door, and that the lid hooks onto it. When I'm cooking I just slide the lid over, it hooks on easily, and I can just scrape veggies right into it from the cutting board. It doesn't look bad hanging on the cabinet, either. But my kitchen is still being remodeled, so I haven't completely decided where I'm going to keep it long-term. It's also easy to hook and unhook from the cabinet, so I can move it around the kitchen as needed. Another bonus is that it has a retention ring to hold bags in place. I bought compostable bags and the ring keeps them from slipping down, and my bin stays perfectly clean! It says dishwasher safe, but I haven't had to test that out yet.

We love this cute little box. It's designed so well. We have it attached under our sink cupboard and it's fantastic. Keeps the smells away, lets us reduce our trash can waste and with some compostable bags from Costco it stays nice and clean. Such a great simple solution!

Buena cubeta, del tamaño perfecto para almacenar la basura organica, el que tenía era muy grande y eso hacia que pasaran varios días para llenarlo y sacar la basura.

This compost bucket has been a game changer. Been using it multiple times a day for over a year. Easy to use, easy to clean, great size, any the hanging functionality of both the container and the lid are very convenient.

This all began because I wanted a compost container that I could also bang my espresso basket on without breaking the whole thing to pieces. And it had to fit in my tiny kitchen. Ceramic? Too fragile. Stainless? Not actually stainless and rusts like crazy. Filter-top lids? The filters aren't replaceable. Step-to-open lid? Huge waste of space. Plain bowl on the counter? Compost only goes out once a week and I don't have room in the freezer.Enter: This plain-as-mud but perfect-in-every-way sturdy plastic bin. It's just a plastic bin with a lid. But it's the perfect size. And the lid hooks onto the side so you don't have to find a spot for it during meal prep. There are no little handle crevices on the lid so there are no nooks and crannies to worry about when washing it.The bin itself has a little removable plastic rim that would effectively hold a compostable bag in place if I needed one. (PSA: Not all compost facilities will take compost bags—please check before bagging your scraps!) The carry handle rotates easily and folds down nice and low so it doesn't stick out. There's a really easy attachment system if you want to move it off the floor. Haven't tried the wall adhesive mount, but the hanging mount is SUPER easy to get the bin on and off of. I store the hanging mount inside my kitchen drawer, and then hang it off the front of the drawer and then slide the bucket onto it when I'm prepping. Makes it really easy to just toss scraps into.Lid has a nice snug fit into the bin, too. I usually leave the lid slightly ajar to let a little circulation through, but when I have to leave it on tight to keep a smell out for a day or two until the compost pickup comes, the lid works like a charm.I never thought I'd write a review about a plastic bucket, but this little bin ticks every single box I needed it to. And I can bang out my espresso basket on it!

This bucket is easy to use and IS SURE TO BE USED (the most important factor!!) due to its ability to be hung just about anywhere that's convenient, thanks to its dual hanging system. I have mine hanging on a drawer adjacent to the most used section of the kitchen counter, so it doesn't take up any counter space (a guarded commodity in my home, due to lack of it). It's a perfect size (will hold all scraps and peelings from a large vegetable soup), has a good size handle that keeps your hands clean when emptying it, it cleans up exceptionally well (no odors absorbed or left behind), it's light weight, the lid controls odor very well (even from onions!), and, something the description doesn't mention, there is a handy removable insert that easily fits on the rim to hold a plastic bag liner in place, if you want to use one. I find this bin cleans up easily and doesn't absorb odors, so I don't use one (wasteful, anyway). I also love the color- a gorgeous green. I am very happy with this recycling bucket!!

Got the teal blue version. 1.3 G size. It hangs inside our cabinet door under the sink from top edge of door. The door doesn't quite close with the hanger in place, but I am okay with that -- our kitchen is not super fancy. This replaces an aluminum flour bin that we kept on the counter. The first bin rusted out. This gives us room on the counter. We have had no issues with smell. We maybe go up to 5 days or so between emptying the bin. The cover is not air tight by any stretch, but it closes well enough, and in conjunction with being under the counter, behind the door, keeps the smells at bay. It has a handle which makes taking it out to the compost bucket much nicer. The handle doesn't feel like the most sturdy thing, but so far after 4-5 months, no issues. There is a ring on the top edge that you can use to keep a small bag in place. We dont use that feature, and the ring adds an extra step to cleaning, but it is is minor inconvenience. For what we were looking for and how we use it, it's a solid 4.
