Well made and finished well. Smooth action. BUT rubber gasket ring under small cap is old, brittle and broken.

This reel looks stunning in Green and Silver. I took the option for the 5/6 wt version as I wanted to use it for Trout and Panfish. The reel can take a WF5 + 70 yards of backing. It is a large arbor design and ensure fast retrieve with each handle turn. Also, less chance for the line to get memory with loser coils. The reel has a design feature that is somewhat different to most reels I have been accustomed to. The means by which you switch it from LHW to RHW is by removal and switching over the bearing inside the Spool and not the Cage. This is shown on a video on the product page of Amazon. The reel runs smoothly, and the drag is more that sufficient for anything you would catch on a 6 weight outfit. The reel does come with a pouch, but I now I also have a reel case from Kyle Booker to store it in. The reel is shown with one of their Fly Lines. Good overall product at the price. Will certainly be looking to get more.

I got this for a sort of travel reel for a telescopic rod. It fit well and the line runs nicely. The drag is responsive and easy to change, and the reel works nicely for my purposes. I like to put a "grub" on a hook with a bobber and let it float down stream to the fish. My other lure is a little spinnerbait that is very light (1/32oz I think) that becomes a topwater in faster flowing water. This reel is just fast enough to bring it in, and I can easily flip it to somewhere new if needed without getting a huge birdsnest. Very handy for the smaller streams and creeks. Very nicely made.

Esteticamente molto bello , ottima frizione.

Let's face it, budget fly reels can be a gamble. You hope for decent quality and functionality, but often end up with clunky casts and drag systems that resemble a rusty hinge. So, when I came across these reels, I approached them with cautious optimism.No-Frills FunctionalityThe design is straightforward, bordering on generic. No flashy colors or cutting-edge materials, just a solid, no-nonsense construction. But here's the thing: it works. The reels are surprisingly smooth, casting line with satisfying ease and retrieving it with minimal fuss. The drag system, while not a powerhouse, handles typical bass and trout with aplomb. It's not going to win any awards for innovation, but it gets the job done.CNC MysteryThe seller claims CNC machining, a process usually reserved for higher-end reels. While I can't definitively verify this, the build quality does hint at some precision engineering. The tolerances are tight, the components feel sturdy, and overall, the reels exude a sense of durability that belies their price tag.Where They ShineThese reels are ideal for beginner and intermediate anglers. They're affordable, user-friendly, and capable of handling most freshwater species. They'll take you from your first cast to mastering basic techniques without breaking the bank. However, if you're a seasoned angler chasing salmon or steelhead, you might want something with more muscle. The Bottom LineDon't expect miracles from these reels. They won't turn you into an overnight expert, and they lack the bells and whistles of their pricier counterparts. But for what they are – simple, functional, and surprisingly well-made budget reels – they deliver solid value. If you're just starting or looking for a reliable backup, these reels are worth a closer look.Final Verdict: 5 out of 5 stars – A practical choice for beginner and intermediate anglers on a budget.

Just received my Kylebooker reel today and cannot believe the value for a Machined reel.Machined reel are more expensive then Die cast reel and can last a life time. This reel is very light and all the cuts are smooth. Looks and feels great, very smooth and the drag system is easy to use and provides lots of drag.Tip! ( Always loosen the drag after every usage for longer life and smooth operation)I loaded some backing ( about 40 yards) and attached the fly line using an Albright Knot. All set up on my 8 weight rod. Tip ( when setting up your rod and reel always start with the tip and work your way down to the reel seat, this way your reel never touches the ground)I also recommend alway putting your reel in a case ...keep it protected as they are fragile and it will last you forever.Planning on testing this reel on some small tarpons in the morning! This 7-8 weight reel can handle fish up to 20 lbsIt would be hard to find a better deal, hope they keep their great prices.

Just received it 2 days ago. Haven’t used it yet but seems to be a nice little reel for the money. With the discounts and sale, I paid $24.16 with tax for this 3/4 wt. CNC machined reel. Looks like a fairly good quality reel for the money….. doesn’t feel cheap. Not overly heavy either. Loaded it with monofilament for my 3 wt 10 ft fly rod for nymphing. Handle rotates the reel smoothly and drag works. Is it an expensive Sage, Orvis or Hardy reel? No. Will it last for years? I hope so but time will tell. For the money, you can’t go wrong. I have no prior experience with Kylebooker but was willing to take a chance. I don’t believe one has to pay hundreds of dollars for a quality fly reel. I am hoping this little fly reel will keep me impressed for several years or longer. I can always use it for a backup reel as well. Just for the record, I am a big fan of Lamson Liquid reels but certainly am willing to give other companies a chance as well.
