Item arrived days ahead of estimated delivery date so we were really happy about that. Easy to follow instructions with color and number codes to match parts. It took one person about an hour. Good sturdy quality, nice butternut finish, fits our FULL size futon mattress perfectly, looks great, comfortable sitting or for bed :)

I don’t often leave reviews, but this is a great piece of furniture! Very well manufactured, super easy to assemble. All parts are neatly packed and clearly labeled. We had the entire thing put together in about an hour and a half. Highly recommend.

First off, the frame looks almost exactly like the picture, which is always good. It is very solid and while I can't tell what wood it's made from, it's obviously real. The hardware is also amazing. All the screws tighten into pre-installed metal nuts or into slotted barrel nuts. These additions make the frame sturdier while also reducing the chance of splitting the wood. While sleeping on it, it makes some creaking sounds (which I actually enjoy) but nothing out of the ordinary. It doesn't move when I shift which. The other thing I wanted to mention was that this had the best assembly instructions I've ever seen. Not only was everything labeled with numbers that were tracked in the instructions and also on removable stickers on the pieces, but it was COLOR CODED! You can still make some mistakes, but they really went above and beyond in trying to make this as easy to assemble as possible. Some important things to note:1. You NEED two people at least to build this. You can do most of it with one person but there are a couple steps that absolutely require two people. Three people would be even easier.2. When it says to leave all the screws loose before inserting the seating/sleeping section into the legs/frame, DO IT! If they aren't super loose, it will not fit, and you could accidentally break it.3. Don't forget to install the metal brackets under the legs. I almost did and I was so happy to see even more care put into the product by including more hardware for extra support and durability.Overall, I am super happy with my purchase. It's beautiful, sturdy, and the instructions were amazing.

So I'm always worried about things that have so few reviews, I don't know why, it just makes me feel like I'm taking a risk, but I decided to take it with this futon and WOW.-This is by far the easiest piece of furniture I ever put together. You only need the provided allen wrenches. Instructions were pretty clear but the assembly itself is also just pretty simple. What was surprising was the hardware pieces were labeled also by step! (see pictures). I have been putting together a lot of furniture lately so it was just...so great...at how easy this was to put together. I thought it would be a lot more difficult.-The hardware is all metal and the wood is really hard, we were surprised at how heavy the boxes were. I don't think there was any plastic involved which was nice. I'm hoping this means we will get many years out of it.-Instructions for the drawers are separate from futon assembly instructions It came in three boxes (well, the mattress was a 4th box but that was technically a separate purchase) and the box with the drawers have the instructions. Just mentioning this because I had a moment of panic when the instructions ended before we got to the drawers. The drawers also do not attach to the futon which means nothing to me other than I think that's why they aren't even next to each other. You can kinda see in the picture the gap and tilt. I assume this is more due to my floors than the drawers themselves. This might bother some people but I don't really care. They roll really nicely on the carpet! The bottoms of the drawers feel much sturdier than I was expecting too.-Going from bed to couch form isn't as easy to do as the IKEA sleeper couch that is being replaced by this but I have never had a futon before so I think once we get used to the way it works it will be easier. You just have to follow the tracks so it's really not hard. Why 4 stars instead of 5.-The wood smelled so bad. I don't know how to explain it but it was bad. I thought a couple of the pieces were moldy but I decided it wasn't bad enough to be a deal breaker, I'd just clean it off. Upon further inspection of another piece I think it was actually saw dust all along not mold. It all got sprayed with disinfectant and wiped down at the very least to help with the smell. Now that's is sprayed, wiped, and been assembled a few days the smell is gone.-The mattress is also constantly sliding down while it's in futon form. It's fairly annoying so my sanity requires I come up with a way to hold it in place. I'm probably going to DIY some velcro straps or something. The mattress is super comfy though but it was a separate purchase from the same company so I suppose I should go over and review that as well.-Well, there are also 4 little wood pieces that cover some screw holes or something and they pretty much immediately popped off and were destroy in a matter of seconds by the dogs. I usually don't bother with those things so to me it's kinda whatever but I guess others might care. It could also be I didn't do a good job inserting them though.Overall I am SO happy with this purchase, it not just met but exceeded my expectations. Now we just need to see how long it holds up to 2 adults, 2 dogs, and in the near future, a child, but I do have a lot of confidence it will be just fine.

Pretty great frame. I’ve had it a couple of months and recently figured out how to transition it to a couch position with a 6” thick mattress and thought that I’d write a review to help others. It was easy to put together with the supplied tools (and especially true because the slats that support the mattress are pre-joined with straps so instead of lining up 8 or so slats you just have to line up 2 sets that are color coded for extra ease). It took me about an hour to assemble. It is very sturdy still (but I kept the included Allen wrench tool underneath just in case it starts to squeak), but due to the thick mattress and 2” topper I bought I found it hard to put it up in the couch position by myself. I bought some straps and attached them to the “back” on each side but I still struggled to get it to fold. After watching the video on their website I saw that you also have to press in the middle of the mattress where the frame hinges underneath. I then rerouted the straps to the middle of the frame (there’s a crossbeam there) and I can now easily convert it by pulling on the straps from The middle of the frame (re: you only need one strap in the middle) while stepping in the middle of the mattress to raise it from bed to lounge (which is awesome!!) or couch positions. If you’re looking for a futon frame I would highly recommend this one, but know that those who are needing an extra firm mattress might need to get creative. I’m 170 lbs and the firmest mattress I could find is ok for me but when my SO is staying over it sags/dips. I may end up lining the slats with plywood and going with stiff foam liners instead of a mattress.
