Our futon is amazing. We ordered the linen stone in butternut wood finish. Well written instructions and it took us approximately 2 hours to assemble. But the greatest part was our mattress had a tiny flaw with the long button that holds the mattress together. The company sent us free of charge a new mattress and asked us to donate the one we were replacing. This was very generous and will definitely use this company again.

I searched for a long time and loved the features available for the futon frame and decided to purchase the mattress as well. I have owned several futons before and never had any issues with them. The frame was not difficult to assemble but I work with tools and alone I was able to finish it in about 30 minutes with everything prepared. The parts box are a work of art themselves.The mattress can only be described as horrible. The clips that run throughout to ensure it doesn't shift internally are hard and just seem to much. In the couch positions (there are two) the mattress is overly stiff and I couldn't find a way that I could relax even with additional pillows. When fully reclined for sleeping the futon was uncomfortable due to the hard springs and sections that allow for internal folding. I have spine issues and comfort on my back and side to sleep are important, this mattress did not deliver those. I contacted the seller through Amazon and they said they would not accept my return because I was past the allowed time, but my order still showed I had 15 days until my return could be processed.The said they could also not make a partial refund as the mattress is not defective.I purchased an 8 inch three layer foam mattress and it is loads more comfortable in all uses. It folds well for the couch and is about 1/3 the weight as well. Also the foam mattress came out to $75 less.

This product appears to be sturdy and looks great. It will definitely serve its purpose as a comfy futon that transforms into our guest bed when needed. The installation was also much easier than some other comments had made it seem. However, when you get to connecting the main frame to the sides, make sure to watch the installation video on the Kodiak website. Seeing it come together on the video probably saved me an hour of frustration that others felt.

Website photo is a poor view of the actual leather; it's 100 times better in person. The futon is the most comfortable couch I ever sat on. The quality is top notch. The wood is very heavy. I am so happy I chose "expert assembly'..by Amazon as it was very complicated to assemble and strength was needed to assemble it. Great deal for such a reasonable price. One photo is how it looks as a couch and the other is how it looks as a bed...so comfortable !

UPDATE: After a few months of daily use, the overall structure is secure. BUT several of the screws that hold the hinges for the arm rest/end tables have fallen clean out, rendering those folding tables useless. Can I fix them myself? Yes. Should I have to? No.The hardware comes beautifully organized and the instructions are clear. My husband assembled it almost entirely alone, although a second person is really helpful when you go to slot the top into the base.It is as comfortable as any futon has a right to be, firm but cushioned. The linen fabric is really nice, it is a respectable basement couch without screaming “I’m a broke college student!” as so many futons do. The frame is sturdy and I love the fold out trays on the ends. The hinged mattress means it stays in place without an awkward bulge at the crease.Highly recommended!

Amazing and instead of buying at a furniture store we were able to buy here and have shipped directly to our home. This was a huge benefit for two reasons: 1. It was the same futon we bought at a furniture store in the Midwest but the mattress was sold separately for the same price as in Amazon and directly from the manufacture and 2. The furniture store would not ship the item to Texas where it was needed for a winter home for an addition that was added on and 3. My mom loved the one that my husband and I had in our home so we bought one for her home and thanks to some researching I was able to find the manufacturer and discovered they sold directly on Amazon and have the the futon WITH the mattress for the same price as the furniture store shipped (free) to mom’s Texas home so 4. Winner and the futon arrived and our son was able to easily assemble it in moms new addition while visiting over Christmas break.Mom reports everyone now comes over and sits with her and asks where she got this amazingly comfortable piece of furniture and she enjoys telling them the story! And straight from the manufacturer!! It’s a hit and the most comfortable Couch (even though it’s a futon) ever! Everyone loves it and we couldn’t agree more. And it sleeps great! My husband and I sleep on the same one (just bought locally) when we stay at her home And it’s very comfortable and why she wanted one for her Texas home.The mattress is 8-9 inches thick and high quality.Special note: I wrote a note asking UPS to kindly assist in making sure the delivery was placed where mom wanted the two boxes as her room was being added on and affected her small winter home. They did and carried them inside and into the back of her home where the sat for three weeks awaiting my sons arrival. I needed to make sure they arrived prior to him coming so he could assemble them while he was there visiting. So everything was above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. This is also part of the Alamo Texas area and not necessarily what would happen everywhere but was so appreciated given my mom should not lift etc due to a prior surgery etc so it was so appreciated (as well as her age).You will love this futon and it comes in many colors. The price is so low and frankly this is way more comfortable than most couches and it becomes a bed too! Win win.
