The bed isn't too bad. You naturally feel the middle bars when you lay down, so a person has to have an extra topping, as an inch of memory foam won't get rid of it, so more would be needed. I put it together, and after a very short time, one of the side holders broke. I tried to get ahold of the company, in more ways than one, yet after trying every way, there's no proper response or ability to have a replacement. After about 18 months of using it, one of the main things that holds the bed to the spring came out, so I don't know what happened, but I had to get help from a friend to drill a hole on both sides so I can sit it back to a couch. It's even on both sides when it's laying flat, so I'll give it this many stars, as I know that many other ones need to have something under the front to make sure that it doesn't tip and a person won't fall to the floor.

Try to find a better product. Honestly, I would not buy this futon again. There has to be better standards somewhere.

Bought this frame for my bedroom almost two years ago & out of all the futon frames I looked at, this one turned out to be a great buy & a gem! Had no trouble at all putting it together. Frame is sturdy & a beautiful piece of furniture with storage at both ends. The add for it said frame only, which was exactly all I was looking for. So for those that need a mattress & a frame, might want to look for another, cause this one is frame only. It’s a great buy, but those that received a faulty frame, I’d send it back & get it either replaced or your money back. But all & all I’d say it’s a great bed &/or couch! I personally use mine for a bed & it holds a full size futon or regular mattress very well!Instructions were easy to read & I put it together myself with the exception of needing help just to attach the ends. I gave this a well deserved 5 stars! I’d highly recommend this frame to add beauty to your room & sturdiness for your comfort! You won’t be disappointed & it won’t break your pocketbook! lol

This futon frame was a bit hard to out together with 2 people only because fully tightening thr screws required both of us on the bottom of the frame. Otherwise it moves easily if you need to convert it, and it's very sturdy. I've had it for almost 2 months now and no complaints. My animals have been jumping and running all over it chasing each other and it doesn't really even move. The storage on the side is a little narrow, so you really can't fit too much in there, maybe just remotes and magazines. Highly recommend, definitely worth the price.

Weather I was unlucky or if it is normal for DHP to ship defective furniture to it’s customers I don’t really know. Here are my pros and cons:Pros1) The packaging was great everything came in the box wrapped up properly helping it to not getting scratched or tossed.2) Instructions are easy to follow if you make it this far, if you’re able to fix the defects yourself or don’t have any.Cons1) Because it was packed really good it only leaves me to believe that all the defects were from the manufacturing company.2) You may have to fix it yourself if you want it to last.3) You will be upset because you spent the day getting rid of old furniture and you now have to commit to to keeping something you can’t return because you don’t want to re-packet or on unable to re-packet.

I like this futon a lot. Easy to assemble, comfortable and sturdiness. We brought the same futon about 5 years ago from Walmart before we replaced it. We got it in black to match the furniture in the room. You have to buy the mattress. We got an 8inch coil mattress.

I was a bit iffy about getting this, but then decided to go for it...and I absolutely love it! Instructions were easy to follow and I put it together myself. I did not, however use the cheesy tiny Allen wrench, or the dinky open end to assemble. I don't know how anyone could put it together with those supplied "tools". I made short work of it with my drill and socket wrench and had it together in about an hour. Extremely comfortable, sturdy, and just the right size for my small living room. It folds up and down into a full size bed easily. I read reviews on other futons and complaints about needing two people to flatten it out or raise it, not so with this one! My only complaint was a small chip of wood on one of the arms near the magazine holder. Presumably during shipping. It was an easy fix with some wood putty and the touch up pen that was supplied. All in all, I am very happy with it. A great replacement for my old sofa. RIP. Lol.

The futon frame is pretty good overall, the frame itself is very easy to piece together, but the instructions are mostly just pictures and has little words. This is not a problem for me but for people who likes to read instructions instead of looking at pictures, this can be off putting. When i was putting the frame together, i used the wrong screws at first but it was very east to fix and didnt break. The frame in action is pretty stiff, and it takes some practice with the movement (especially if you get a mattress thicker than 8 inches and if you're a smol human like me). Because i have wood flooring, it slides around and i have to fold and unfold it from the side. It doesnt scratch the wood though. The frame is also very sturdy, the sides arent wobbly even with someone sitting on the edge of it. Its only creaked about five times (when its not being folded/unfolded) over the 2 weeks I have had it, and I've been using it daily as both a bed and couch.Overall, the positives:frame is sturdy and quiet unless being folded. It handles weight well and isnt loose. The negatives:The frame is stiff when folding and unfolding, anything over an 8" mattress is gonna be a challenge. It also doesnt grip to wood flooring well, I imagine carpet would be better and different.

In one side of the mattress, I can sort of see and imprint of the springs and feel the springs when I run my hand across it. I guess it was the edge of the mattress that was on the inside when it was rolled up for shipping. There really isn't anything I can do to fix this. The mattress is very bouncy, almost like an air mattress. Because of that it does feel less firm and more plush. It doesn't feel like it has much cotton material inside. The color and fabric is nice and seems durable. It folds into futon couch form easily - not much resistance.

I love this mattress - the best futon mattress I’ve ever owned. Solid, supportive, and comfortable. The only downside was the packaging!!! I was the only one here to receive it and it was very heavy and awkward to get in the door. My only tools for unboxing were a small utility knife and regular office scissors. The packaging says not to use a knife to open the box ... I don’t know how else you would open it. After a lot of cussing and almost an hour of my time, I had managed to tear the box apart in pieces and had the mattress unrolled and inflating. I would highly recommend that anyone who lives alone arrange to have help when this thing arrives.
