Afraid your going to use Amazon for the savings and convenience only to recieve a miniature version of what you thought you wanted? DON'T WORRY NOT TODAY! I love it! Its big! The wood is nice and has a nice finish. It looks good! The only downside has nothing to do with the frame but with the instructions, which did not make sense and had a lot of typos. BUT if you have basic common sense, it shouldn't be a problem and therefor I wont be deducting any points. MAKE SURE YOU GET A GOOD FUTON MATRESS TO MATCH!!!! Brett Deadly approved.

I have had a futon since my early 20s, which means that it is over 31 years old. But while the actual mattress still feels comfortable and firm, the frame has seen better days. So, when my oldest son decided to start adulting and purchased a townhouse, I told him that if he decided to take it, I would order him a new frame. To freshen it up, give the old girl a face-lift. This one by Kodiak was perfect. It was reasonably priced and looks great. It is a rich espresso brown color, very sleek and modern. It took my youngest son about 30 to 45 minutes to assemble. He said the directions were easy to follow. What I like about this frame is the ability to pull up the arms to form table trays. What a nice feature! Once assembled, it appears to be well made and sturdy. Guess what? The new frame makes the futon itself look brand new. The updated look is perfect for the new bachelor. It can be used in his “man-cave” as a sofa, and when he has company over, as a bed. I definitely recommend this frame.

Love this futon! My only negative was the significant odor given off by the mattress for the first ~3 days. There was hardly a trace of odor after that time. I'd recommend opening the package the mattress comes in to air out the mattress first, in a garage or similar place, for at least 2-3 days before use and assembly of the frame.I was pleasantly surprised how well all the parts, their numbering and color coding, and the assembly instructions were done. I assembled the frame in about a couple hours, with only a handful of brief times of extra hands needed from my wife. No missing parts, and everything went together easily with the supplied Allen wrench. I've slept on it and it is very comfortable. I've had back issues over the years and this mattress is really comfortable, especially for its thickness, which appears to be around 8". I think I may actually even prefer it to our Tempurpedic bed! It's also easy to fold into the seated position, thanks to the hinged coil springs in it. Can't go wrong with this one!

Recently purchased this futon set to use as a sitting area/spare bed. So far I'm very pleased with it. It arrived in 3 separate boxes, 1 was the mattress, and the other 2 was components. And they was very well packaged. So first off I"m thinking how hard is this going to be to put together?? For anyone thinking the same question let me just say this.........RELAX....... It's going to be fine. Now the box did say instructional video enclosed. But not correct. It did have the web address to go to and watch the video, which I did. And if you watch this everything goes so smooth.First off everything is color coordinated as to what goes where. So if you lay it out like on a blanket (highly recommended), to protect the finish, then match up the colors, it's a piece of cake.To be completely honest it took me about 3 hours to assemble this futon.BUT consider this..........I'm 62 yrs old. My back is not what it used to be, so I took more than a couple breaks. And I'll admit went back to check the video a few times.I'd venture to say a younger person could easily assemble this in under an hour.Bottom line........ This is an amazing futon set. Looks great, sits, and sleeps well. And very well built.Once everything is tightened up, it's really sturdy.I do have one very small negative, and that's only for the allen wrench that's included. Not the best....The one I got seemed soft and the edges wore down before it was completely tightened. So may need to have a spare on hand just in case............

Took me about an hour to assemble on my own, but it wasn't difficult. A lot of repetition for the most part.Seems to be of decent quality materials and finish, about what I would expect for the price point. The supports for the side shelves don't click in place, but that could be corrected with a $5-10 trip to the hardware store. It works fine enough for now that I won't bother. This is for a guest bedroom/gaming room. So I sat on it while I played some video games, and didn't have any soreness like I did on the cheap Wally World futon this replaced.I then attempted to convert it to a bed, and could not. I had to remove the mattress, convert, then return the mattress. I slept on it that night, and was surprised with how comfortable it was. Better than many 3-star hotel beds I've slept in.The next morning I tried to convert it back to a sofa, and could not. I once again had to remove the mattress to convert it. I was able to convert it both ways with sister's help. It doesn't take a great deal of strength. You just need someone on both sides. Maybe it'll get easier over time. Not that it really matters. If I ever need to convert it to a guest bed, it means there's someone who can help anyway.
