Brand new muzzle brake wouldn't thread onto any of my 3 barrels, get a quarter of the way on and wouldn't budge any further. The other 2 brakes would thread right on all 3 barrels, so this 1 brake had an issue.Chased the threads with this tap, you could feel it cutting when it got to the tight area...pushed right on through. Threads onto all barrels as good as the other 2 now, very nice fitting sharp tap... you won't regret spending slightly more for this kind of quality cutting tool.

Used to chase plastic threads. Worked great, nice and straight. Good quality, and made in USA!

If they would have actually put the Tap in the package, that would have been great, instead I got an empty package. After waiting 4 days for the Tap, I then had to wait 4 days for my card to be credited, I'm not about to wait 4 days for another empty package. Kodiak cutting tools went above and beyond, sent me another tap.....no questions. The address in Kentucy was a Amazon fulfillment warehouse and put Kodiaks name on the package. That's unacceptable. Thanks Kodiak, I will use you for all my cutting tooling!!!

Had a 1/2-28 piston that would not thread onto a new device. Used this tap to chase the threads and everything now works great.

Perfect for threading or chasing threads on your mussel break. Use lube, back it off every 3/8 or 1/4 turn, and go slow. Works great and it's a solid tool.

Quality tool for the price. It's not a common thread size, so it doesn't see a lot of use around the shop (unlike a 1/2" NPT), but it's been used a few times on brass, aluminum, and steel without any issues and it's still sharp and in great shape. I would recommend to anyone looking to purchase for light-medium usage; it seems like it would hold up pretty well under heavy usage as well, but without experience I can't recommend it.

This is an exceptionally well-made American tool, made here in the USA. For this price you can barely get a Chi-com piece of junk that is good for one use. This tap is sharp and very nicely finished. It worked very well on the part I made.

For the price, I was very surprised of the quality of this tap. I have used it on aluminum and mild steel with no issues. It's still sharp after tapping about 10 holes.
