I use to buy generic off the shelf oil filters as I thought they are all the same. But years later I find that not all are the same and some are better. The K&N is one of those better ones. To check open up an old oil filter and you can see the internals are differently made. You make a mess but you know for sure which are the better ones. K&N is one of the better ones.

These are my go to choice for an ‘02 & ‘05 Yukon with 6.0L & 5.3L. I have always preferred to run larger oil filters for the additional surface area of the filter element. These are taller than the OE oil filter. No issues with these whatsoever.

It is an oil filter. It does as it is supposed to. Unfortunately, I found out after the fact, that it is cheaper to buy in stores than on Amazon.

Purchased three from Amazon as K&N is an excellent filter. Filtration is very good as using in the past. Easy on and off, no issues. Filters came with a plastic trim covering the top part of filter. Very good service in taking care of quality products. We would recommend K&N oil filters to all those adept in automotive maintenance.

My 2004 GMC/Envoy/XUV is pushing 250,000 miles. I have purchased this limited production convertible SUV/panel-wagon/pick-up truck six years ago, when it had 34 months and 77,000 miles on it. I switched over to K&N with the first oil change and saw an immediate gain in performance and mileage. I went from an average of 15 mpg, to an average of 18.2 mpg! That's better than a 20% increase in efficiency. I fabricated a cylindrical filter housing out of a SS canister and custom bent the intake run out of 4" SS tube, blending the stock connection fittings to the SS components. The result was an improvement in the intake/exhaust note.Being a stickler about lubrication for my engines, since the muscle car days, I flushed the engine and went for a full-kit of XADO additives and a high mileage blend of synthetic oil. My average mpg is now up to 18.7, much of attributable to the highway miles a I pour on the 4.2 liter 6 cylinder under the hood. A steady cruise at 75 mph will yield 22.5 mpg; dial that back to 65-70 mph and you can squeeze 24.1 mpg out of it! The air filter lasts "forever" and the extra expense for the oil filter is a high yield investment in maintenance that help keep things running smoothly for a long, long time.
