This K&N cold air intake system is engineered for your vehicle. Does not fit on my R52 MCS Convertible. I’ve called K&N directly and spoken with Tech Support. They asked that I write up my issue and take pictures which I’ve done & I haven’t gotten a response. Still in limbo and haven’t been able to drive the car since. Going on a week and a half now. Disappointed!

Looks, sounds and feels fantastic! Definitely feel my car breathing easier than before, with a lot more sound from the supercharger! I have a 2004 MINI Cooper S and this went on very easy, although I do recommend having another person there for an extra set of hands.

I've got quite a bit done to my 2006 Cooper S and this intake replaced an AFE intake that had literally eaten a hole in the intake pipe AFTER the filter. As such I can't really attest to any power gains because the car has so much done to it, and it replaced an already aftermarket intake. What I can say is this thing sounds amazing! The supercharger is much more vocal than it was even with the AFE intake.

The super charger sounds REDICULOUS @ 5k+ rpm. This is also smog legal in CA! NICE... If you are looking for a throaty sound, you wont get it from this... it's all in the SC baby! A little laggy at low RPM, but high RPM it feels nice (dont know about HP gain, havnt tested)

I purchased the Typhoon CAI system for a 2006 MINI Cooper Sorry with a compressor. Delivery was on time. It was a very easy install. I'm sure there was some increase in hp, although probably under a 5 hp increase. The real benefit is when combined with a larger header, free-flow cat and cat-back exhaust - allowing the motor to move more air throughout the intake/exhaust system. However, the "whine" sound of the compresser under load at high rpms is quite nice sounding! And, it looks very nice under the hood. I would recommend this system to anyone that is going to open up the restriction points on the exhaust as well. Otherwise, the K&N basic air filter replacement works nearly as efficiently at a fraction of the price.

I've owned my Mini Cooper S since 2006, and just recently installed this cold air intake system, noticed right away the car is 'breathing' much better than before, and revving all the way to red line is effortless, in comparison. And makes wonderful sound beyond 4000 rpm... haven't measure the gas mileage yet, but the on-board computer is showing better results since the installation...

I'm a do it yourself for the minor stuff. Installation was straightforward although the first disclaimer before step 1 advised to get the codes before disconnecting the negative battery terminal. There was no need to disconnect the battery cable. The hardward(aluminum tubing) seems flimsy(made in China quality) for $315 kit. Instructions said to install the larger of the four clamps on one connection but all the clamps were the same size. The short silicone tube connecting the intake port was difficult to get on. Use some mild soap and water to "lubricate" it. Went on easy after that. Haven't checked the mpg yet but it definitely sounds like its swallcwing more air when you step on it hard. No noise difference in normal driving. In hindsight I would have bought a less expensive no name brand and saved a $150 to get the same result.

Installed on my 2003 mini R53 this is just great. No modifications to factory parts, easy install...took me 45 min with reading step by step instructions and stopping for some pics in between. Sounds great on car at any rpm, nice quiet woosh/suction sound and a little whistle nothing annoying just pure beauty. Nice American style no whining obnoxious scream. Plus it looks great under the hood.Shipping was lightning fast and we'll packaged all parts included and very simple directions.
