I bought this to use for fun, primarily, but even for that its not the best. The recording quality and playback are both pretty bad, and in terms of recording it still isn't great with an external microphone. Also when rewinding it gets caught up and will not spin BUT that may be cassette related. If your wanting to use this seriously at all, would look into other products.

I purchased this to listen to my parents old cassette tapes, it was simple to understand and works great. I even plan on using it to record my dungeons and dragons sessions, unfortunately the built in microphone isn’t amazing, but perfect for what I need.

The buttons feel great and the quality of the entire unit feels really good too. The radio works really well as well and is a nice touch. It's my main radio now as well as cassette player. The only complaint I guess I could say is the speaker is not the best quality but it comes with headphones 🎧 so that makes up for it to me. I wasn't really planning on using the built-in in speaker anyways if you use headphones or even plug it into a external speaker it sounds great. But yeah the built-in speakers is a little tiny and cheap sounding. But that's ok I guess if I was really going to nit pick would be if would be nice if it came with a belt clip but honestly that's not a really big deal. Over all I pros out weigh the very few cons and I'm very happy it with this perches

This product was designed very carefully and crafted with customer satisfaction in mind. And I’ve gotta be honest it by far surpassed my initial expectations. The cassette player itself looks and performs correctly with ease. The sound of the headphones is of quality making both items very convenient to use.It comes with nice packaging and makes you feel you’ve made the right choice for your cash.100% satisfied with this price point and exceptional product for its cost.Thank you.

My 10yo son asked for a cassette player. He has played his grandfathers old cassettes for days.

I bought this product as someone who was born right after the cassette era but is fascinated by them. I wanted to record some mixtapes just for fun, but wasn't ready to drop hundreds of dollars on a deck that I might only use a few times. This walkman is easy to use and understand, and I was also able to play some old cassette tapes that belong to my parents. It feels pretty sturdy and doesn't seem like it'll break easily. I've been recording through an aux cable off my computer and haven't tested the internal microphone, but so far the quality I'm getting is right about what I'd expect off a cassette tape, which is what I was hoping for. I'd definitely suggest this product for anyone interested in recording or playing cassettes, but who isn't ready or able to spend hundreds on a full deck.

A solid option at this price point. I think most will be happy with the design, packaging, manual, inclusion of batteries, ear buds, etc. AM/FM reception is also not amazing but is adequate. It may not be visible in the pictures on Amazon, but there is an access hole on the back to adjust the pitch with a tiny screwdriver, which you will probably want to do. The pitch on mine was slightly off out of the box. In my experience, this is fairly commonly needed on brand new players, unfortunately.

A couple things: the enclosed ear buds have magnets for hold them together, and appear to be solidly built. However, they just don't work with my ears. I get that it's a "me problem", but they just didn't work out at all for me.Also, the first time I played a tape in this, it sounded TERRIBLE, and if you turned it so the tape was vertical instead of horizontal it sounded like the player was underwater, I don't know if the player just needed a few minutes, but after a couple songs I stopped and re-seated the tape and it's been fine since. The player has auto-stop on play, but not for fast-forwarding or rewinding. Rewinding an entire side of a cassette seems to take FOREVER on this player, but it could just be me being rusty with cassette players. It sounds... well, good enough. There are no Dolby options like on an 80s Sony unit, so noise reduction is kinda "meh". But it'll do.It's not very compact (as you can see from the photo, it's significantly thicker than a cassette case). It's not walk to walk with though, although there's no strap or hand grip to use while walking. The radio was a bit touchy - harder than it should be to tune in to a reliable broadcast. There's a small speaker in the front of the unit. I imagine it would be OK if you were going to listen to something in the background in your cube at the office. No one would take this tinny little speaker seriously. What's worse, the speaker covers the cassette reels, so you can't see the cassette's progress.I know I sound like I've done nothing but rag on it, this really is a cute, nice portable player. Just realize you're getting an imperfect re-creation of the 80s originals.
