I bought this on sale, so the price felt just right. I’m not sure I would have paid full price, but overall, I’m happy with the purchase. It works well and does exactly what I needed it to do. It’s a convenient little player that easily plugs into external speakers and connects to a laptop without any issues. For what I paid, it’s a great value, and it’s been reliable so far. I recommend it, especially if you can find it on sale.

This "walkman" will make you feel like you've returned to the 90s. I bought it to listen to old mix tapes my husband gave me when we were dating, and we have loved listening to them. It works with a headset, but it also has a reasonable speaker. The speaker is not too loud, but that is not really how this is supposed to be used, I assume. It is compact, seems sturdy, and is easy to hold. Find your old tapes and get this!

I was a bit concerned when I first ordered this item, as some reviews were great, and some were not so great. I have to say, this exceeded my expectations. I went on a cruise, like 25 years ago, and I found the audio cassette for the band that played on the sun deck every day. The music was engrained in my brain. I wanted to get them digitalized so I can stream them thru my car audio system: enter the reshow! For anyone that actually had a portable cassette player, this is very vintage looking, just like they used to look. You can see the size comparison as I have a pic of it next to my computer mouse. I was extremely happy with the result and functionality.FIRST OFF: this device takes audio right off cassette player, just as it is. So it sounds all "cassette-like." DO NOT EXPECT IT TO CLEAN UP THE AUDIO like it is a new digital mp3 release.SECOND: use a free program like Audacity, and YouTube "how to clean up cassette sound with audacity." That is what I did, and it sounds great. It still sounds a bit like a cassette, which kind of makes me happy and nostalgic, but it definitely sounds a million times better. This RESHOW was easy to use, just pop in tape, connect to your computer with supplied cord, and follow the directions it gives you. When "ripping" audio from tape to your PC, they give you directions using Audacity, again, this is a free program to download and use. It is very simple if you are familiar with computers, programs and such. I must have listed to the digitalized version of this tape 50 times already. I love it, as it brings back memories of family trips and my youth. I am very happy with this device as it exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it.

Zeer matige bouwkwaliteit. Nu al problemen met het afspelen van bandjes. Krakend geluid tijdens door -of terugspoelen. Dit gaat retour.

I love this Walkman-style cassette player! It’s a perfect blend of old-school charm and modern convenience. The built-in speaker delivers surprisingly clear sound, and the headphone jack is great for private listening. Recording cassettes to MP3 is super easy, and it works flawlessly, preserving my old tapes in digital format. It’s lightweight and portable, making it perfect for travel or just relaxing at home. Highly recommended for cassette lovers and anyone looking to relive the retro vibe!

I bought this cassette player to digitize old cassette recordings. I had saved an old cassette player for this purpose, but (sadly) it didn't work anymore (too much time in the hot garage, I think). So, this tape player was just what I needed. What did I like about it?- Compact - It is just the size of a Walkman.- Not too expensive- Easy to use - I just plugged it in to my computer and installed Audacity from the Internet. It has a number of features I did not use, such as an ability to run on battery power, a built-in speaker, and a microphone. When you hook up to a computer, the device gets power through the USB cable, and the sound can be transmitted to your computer's speakers. There is also a headphone jack. The sound quality was good enough for my purposes, but I did not test it for music to any extent. These tapes were up to 40 years old, so I was just happy that I could hear them at all. What could be improved? My only complaints are:1. The built-in speaker covers half of the front of the device. It would be nice to be able to see into the middle area to be able to see where you are on the tape.2. The record button is right next to the play button. I would sometimes accidentally hit record instead of stop. It would be nice to either space the button a bit further away, color it red, or swap it with the play button. I had one tape player that required you to press both play and record to record.3. There is no auto-stop when you reach the end of the tape. This would be a useful feature. Some of my tapes were really old, and the glue between the leader gave way when I rewound the tape. I had to cut the cassette open and splice the tape back. It is possible that an auto-stop functionality would have prevented this from happening. That being said, these downsides were relatively minor, and overall, I was quite happy with the device.

So i've got hundreds of cassettes, a lot of 7" records that i put on tape back in the early 90's, or mixtapes i made when i listened to long-forgotten stuff.a couple of years ago i bought a cheap chinese walkman clone, but the sound was garbage, the mechanism was cheap, and overall it was just junk that wasn't worth listening to.fast forward a couple of years, and i see in the nytimes wirecutter that they picked the best portable cassette players. another unit got highest marks, but it was over $100...insane. this reshow player was was recognized as the best for the money, and it's less than $50. also wirecutter noted that all the brands used the same transport mechanism, so it may not be bulletproof, but i felt like i could trust it to be comparable to any other brand.anyway, got it in, plugged it in, and it works great. sounds really good too, and has usb/etc connectivity in addition to a standard 1/8" jack out. bottom line, i'm glad i ran across this unit, and i'm happy to share this to other folks trying to find a player worth buying in a sea of cheap junk.
