It is a very nice Hard Drive, small (easy to transport) and fast, and it is easy to connect to a Macbook and iPad. I recommend it

I bought this to mainly use as a Time Machine back-up drive for my new MacBook. I split the drive to use half for back-up and half for file storage. It works great and files transfer very quickly. It's easy and small so I can plug it in for quick use and easily remove and store it until the next use, including transferring files between computers.

A tad pricey but you get what you pay for with portable SSD's. I was tempted to buy something cheaper, but I am glad that I didn't. Kingston is a great brand and has an amazing warranty. The drive is fast and does what I need it to do. I render videos directly onto the drive and it works wonders. I would definitely buy again.

I have pretty beefy custom-built Gaming Rig.It has 3 - 2TB internal hard-drives (one an SSD) ,plus I have 2 USB-A, (3.2) external HDDs connected as well.I looked for another External USB-A hard drive but needed an SSD. Got very lucky with this one. It was fairly inexpensive (roughly $109 w/tax). The reason I say I 'got lucky' is b/c Kingston is a good brand plus everywhere I looked ,all the other external SSDs used USB-C connection w/o a USB-A adapter. I think most of the USB-C to USB-A adapters cost $15 and up. Which isn't that big of a deal if you're just gonna store pictures , music , movies, etc on it , but I mainly use it for installing and running video-games off it. Thing is , once you buy an external USB-C SSD , and use a USB-A adapter ,the data transfer speeds drops dramatically ( for a gamer that's a deal breaker ) but since this one already connects directly to a USB-A port ,it's a pretty darn fast external SSD.I've installed a few games on it since purchasing it and they run smooth & fast. Pretty amazing for an SSD that isn't internally connected to you motherboard. Not sure if they're still available ,but if they are ,even if you're just a casual gamer , it's a great purchase. However ,as I stated before ,if you're not a gamer , this won't matter to you much anyway.

As someone who deals with massive amounts of data for my business and marketing needs, the Kingston XS2000 1TB portable SSD has been an absolute game-changer. I honestly kick myself for not buying one of these sooner!Let's start with the obvious - having a terabyte of super-fast solid state storage that fits in my pocket is immensely valuable. I can carry virtually my entire content library with me wherever I go. No more bulky external hard drives or swapping out computers to access files. It's all lightning-quick on this little drive. The read/write speeds on the XS2000 are simply phenomenal, especially when using the included USB-C cable. Transferring large video files, RAW photos, or entire project folders happens in just seconds rather than minutes. It makes my workflow so much more efficient.Another standout feature is how seamlessly the SSD works between different operating systems. I can use it interchangeably on my Mac and Windows desktop with zero compatibility issues. The plug-and-play functionality is such a time-saver.Build quality is impressive too. The sleek aluminum body gives it a premium feel while still being extremely light and portable. And despite being incredibly compact, it has survived a few accidental drops to the floor with zero data loss or damage.I could go on singing its praises, but you get the idea - the Kingston XS2000 is worth every penny for anyone who needs blazing transfer speeds and massive capacity in a truly portable SSD. It's an indispensable tool for my career that has already paid for itself many times over in time savings and reduced hassle. Don't sit on this drive, just buy it already!

I bought this storage expecting it to be about an iPod Touch sized SSD but it is actually really small. I like how it comes with a cable included but wish it was a USB C to USB C cable rather than a USB C to USB A and a converter to USB-C but I am just nit-picking at this point. The storage comes in FAT32 format making it easy to move files in and out across devices. However, you can optimize for NTFS format for Windows-Only.Additionally, I like how fast it reads and write, making it easy to transfer files and with a lot of archives saved on my computer, I can easily life a lot of storage out from my internal storage to this external storage.

The Kingston XS1000R 2TB SSD is an impressive external drive that has exceeded my expectations in every way.Pros:1. Incredible Speed: The transfer speeds are as advertised—up to 1050MB/s. Moving large files, like videos and photos, is lightning-fast and saves so much time.2. Compact and Portable: It’s truly pocket-sized and lightweight, making it perfect for travel or on-the-go work. It fits easily into a bag or even a pocket without taking up space.3. High Capacity: With 2TB of storage, it’s perfect for backing up important files, storing media, or running applications directly from the SSD.4. Build Quality: The device feels sturdy and well-constructed despite its small size. It’s durable enough for everyday use.5. Plug-and-Play: It works seamlessly right out of the box with both Windows and Mac systems. No setup hassle at all.6. USB 3.2 Gen 2: The USB connectivity ensures compatibility with a wide range of devices, and the cable provided is of good quality.Cons:Honestly, I haven’t found any downsides. If I had to nitpick, it could have included a carry case for extra protection, but that’s hardly a dealbreaker.Overall:The Kingston XS1000R 2TB SSD is an excellent choice for anyone needing fast, reliable, and portable storage. Whether you’re a professional or just looking for a high-quality external drive, this SSD delivers on all fronts.Rating: 5/5
