The Kidde Carbon Monoxide Detector with 10-Year Battery, model C3010, is a carbon monoxide detector that uses electrochemical sensor technology to detect carbon monoxide. The CO detector is powered by a 10-year lithium battery that never needs replacing, plus protects during a power failure. The Kidde alarm is conveniently designed and portable enough for travel - simply install it on a wall or place it on a tabletop. When carbon monoxide is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound & a red LED will flash. A green LED indicates that the alarm is receiving power. And an amber LED indicates when it's time to replace the detector. The test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as temporarily silence the low battery chirp warning. Install a smoke detector & carbon monoxide detector on every level of your home and near bedrooms to help keep your family safe from fire & poisonous gas. UL Certified with a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

I had a gas stove and oven in India and brought this CO detector from the US. Good thing I did! Any time I would bake for more than 1 hour, e.g. two items in a row, the CO monitor would go off, and I'd have to open all the doors and ventilate the kitchen. Within a year I replaced it with a different gas stove-oven, and the same CO monitor never went off.I lent the CO monitor to a friend who was using a gas heater in a room where their new born baby was (in India), and the alarm, went off. So they changed their heating system, and got a CO monitor for themselves. I'm so glad I had this CO detector! Brain damage and possible death were certainly prevented.

This is one very important and safety driven item we all definitely need in our homes. It's a small item that protects us. And by the way, it's self contained and literally lasts for ten years.

Good quality coming from Kidde. We have 2 of these and 1 is several years old and still working well. Not our first Kidde product and we've been pleased with every product from Smoke Detectors to Fire Extinguishers, and our Carbon Monoxide Detectors.

I like the ten year battery feature. Good until its not........ many years in the future. Stylish as well, fits anywhere. IMHO, anyone with a gas furnace or heating unit would be foolish not to invest in one of these....... these detectors are the reason I was able to buy new furnace, aye. Understand?

I thought that these were the kind that plugged into an outlet. They have a 10 year battery so I guess that's not bad and I had more freedom to put them where they would do the most good. They were relatively easy to install and you can tuck them near the floor. So much better than a CO2 detector on the ceiling. My ceilings are so high that I would probably be dead before the traditional ones went off.
