I worried daily about two outdoor cats that were dropped off in my neighborhood, but since buying these heaters they have been warm and toasty. Now the cats and myself have been sleeping with no worries.

This is awesome... our 3 kitties love it! We do use it outdoors (even though it says indoor). We have an enclosed shelter for our outside kitties and placed it there - some days they don't want to leave their shelter! Sturdy and awesome!

Feral cats around my area like to loaf around on it often, so it must be good. Would probably be decent in a small shelter for really cold winter nights.

I have tried so many options to keep this feral cat happy. Houses, beds, cat posts in the barn. Nothing worked. I feed him but he won’t let me touch him. The weird thing is, he likes to sleep by my back door. So I bought this heating pad, it’s hard so I also bought the Sherpa cover, which really doesn’t make it softer, but I put a warm blanket on top of the pad and he is so content. We have a cat door for our inside cat, and he won’t even use that. We inherited him with the property we purchased, so we do have an obligation to keep him warm and fed. He loves the open air, but he also likes a warm bum!! This heating pad is wonderful.

My neighbor and I are supporting a feral cat. We have tried to convert this kitty to an indoor/outdoor cat, but that did not work, so we just have been providing food and water ... until this brutal winter hit. We created a shelter - an insulated crate with straw, but as temperatures fell, that was not going to be enough.I was so happy to find this indoor/outdoor heating pad for cats - I bought the one without the cover, because removing the cover would only disturb the cat. I was surprised that the pad is very stiff - almost like a padded tray. The pad is waterproof and with its pressure-sensitive thermostat, it is supposed to only warm when the cat is "at home". It just the right size for the crate and I know it is working - our kitty friend makes a bee-line to that crate (he has a choice of two) with the outdoor temperature drops or the snow starts to fall.My neighbor and I are sleeping better, knowing our kitty friend is safe and warm. I think this is a quality product that will last several seasons. In the spring, it will be easy to remove, clean and store. I do not see a significant increase in my electric usage since adding this pad.

This is a great product. It does work as it states. It does not get warmer UNLESS the animal is on it. Otherwise, it's not going to feel very warm. (We situated our mat in a shallow cardboard box so we could build a blanket around the mat. That is what you see in the picture)The best time to check it is after the animal has been on it-- if it is WARM - then you will know that it's working. It keeps him warm enough in 15° weather 🤍The cord is safe. The materials are safe.I would not purchase another mat unless certified safe -- This is certified by electric (I'm not sure what it's called, however it's certified safe!)It would be highly unlikely that this product would ever cause a problem or catch on fire. Follow directions as it says do not plug into a strip. Make sure it's a direct outletThis is also made for outdoor use. Meaning a shed, a garage, any place that can get wet or has extreme elements. This company makes different heat pads for indoor or outdoor use.I've purchased quite a few products through k&h and I always highly recommend them!

So, you're reading reviews and see it has high returns. Let me help you decide.I've been using this for a feral cat for the past several months now. I am in northern Michigan so we know cold.It is a hard shaped heating pad, or more precise, it's a heated platform. It does not have any bend to it, so plan to have it covered for soft seating and laying on. I have this one between layers of a cat bed (thick wool, foam, and fleece layers). To touch, it doesn't seem like much warmth could get through, but I'm reassured (by feeling the bed once the cat left at my entry) that once the cat is on it, the pad warms up under him. No, not just body heat...this cat is getting warmth. Not a lot to overheat, but enough to get that chill from 20° temperatures off and ward off shivers to maintain body heat. The pad seems to cycle off when the cat is not on it, then cycle on when he is on it. I have not seen any change to the electric bill to say it has much, if any, cost to operate.I have ordered another to put under a pet cushion on the front deck as a secondary feeding area (he eats more in the winter and we are not over feeding in his shed to invite unwanted visitors after dark). I'm hoping this second warm spot will have him slowing down to eat at night and feel no need to rush back to the shed to get warm again.Seriously, get this if you have a cold feral. Just know it needs a cover and flat surface. It's weatherproof, chew-proof, scratch-proof and great. Get it.

When I opened the box and saw this hard plastic heating thing, I gave serious thought to returning it. I bought it to replace the heating pad in one of K&H's heated houses that only has 1/2 the pad heated. This pad is thick and it is hard. I sat it on my counter for a couple of days to decide. We are getting 8 degree weather this weekend so I plugged it in to see what it would do. It gets quite warm. It's plugged in in the garage with blankets on top right now. Mama cat has been laying on it. An insulated house will be coming before the harsh weather this weekend to put it inside of. Leaving the other houses as is since Steve has started using them and it takes him forever to try new things. I was upset at first that there was no covering. This is not inexpensive for the size. But it is very well made and does the job well. I've often wished I could put a heated pad in the straw hutches. Without a covering, this would work for that.

My cat still loves to go outside. So we set up a foam insulated cat house, it is lined with wind proof blanket as well and this heat pad with a timer. It heats up at 730 am and my cat goes out and in there to just chill. It keeps his paws toasty and he even sleeps in his house. Our temperature dropped to -16/-28 with windchill.. it keeps him warm. Of course we call him every 20-30 mins to come in we dont want him just being outside for too long.

Wasn’t really what I expected as I’ve purchased a couple before in the past decade but worked extremely well with no issues and is still in good working condition few years later as I write this review

Resulto una mala compra. El artefacto casi no calienta y cuando le pones la funda, el calor es tan debil que no traspasa la tela y mis gatos no les pareció atractivo.
