Overall I still really like this blade. However it has issues. The handle rattled and none of the fittings were tight. However I do blacksmithing and tinkering and made a new handle for it altogether. For the value honestly, you can't go wrong. If you know what you are doing it can be an okay blade. The edge is blunted which is perfect for me because I do stage combat. The leather sheath is nice because I can hang it reliably at an angle on my back and the seax fits nice and snug(ish) in it. The tang is a little thin but it should be OK for my use. Overall I am happy with this new addition to my kit!

This Seax has a nice heft and a sizable grip to accommodate the hearty tang. Examining the blade down the length on it's flat side you can clearly see that it is indeed hand-forged, but rather well. That being said, there will be subtle variations. This one fits very very tightly in the scabbard... too tightly. One the leather breaks in that may improve. At least it is secure. As for the edge, there is none. Not even a chisel edge. It is practically rounded at 1-2 mm. This is my one genuine dissatisfaction. You will spend some time putting a proper edge on it. Nonetheless, the weight and balance are correct and in your hand it really wants to chop as well as cute and pierce as a seax should.

I received my Seax today… This thing is the saddest excuse for a blade I have ever seen. The blade literally spins in the handle, the grip is the size of a beer bottle, and the blade came with rust and pitting. I can understand if it’s not sharp for cosplay safety, but it’s blunt. It’s a glorified hunk of steel that is barely in the shape of a Seax. I am so ridiculously unsatisfied with this dumpster fire of a blade. It’s going to be ripped to the bare steel blank that it is and im going to attempt to fix it. I wouldn’t pay $3 for this crap. -789 stars.

Whatever shop it is that is producing this piece doesn't seem to have any reservations about sending out versions with huge gouges ground out of it. I tried twice through Amazon to get something comparable in quality to the picture, and a third time over Etsy and each time got only the type of quality you see in the pictures I've posted with this review. I like the style of the piece, but the workmanship is appalling.

POS. Blade not hand forged, and has no useable edge at all. Pure display piece with edge over 1/8 th inch wide. Hours of work with a file to even start to sharpen.Do not recommend for other than a wall hanger. Look elsewhere.

Just got this sax a few minutes ago. Nice, heavy leather. Good, solid blade. Exactly what I was looking for. Rat tail tang is driven all the way through and peened solidly through the pommel. An excellent representation of an iron age sax.
