I can't speak to the explosive protection of this lens since I haven't experienced any explosions, but it's a nice layer to add protection. So far so good

K&F may not have the cache of the big names in the filter market, however, if you're looking to protect your fancy new lens at a reasonable price, look no further than K&FMost people invest in UV Filters to protect the front element on their lens, rather than the optical benefit that a UV filter provides.. But aside from the protection, you want a filter to do 2 things. First is to fit and thread onto you lens without a problem. The second is not distorting your images in any way....After using K&F on most of my Nikon Z lenses, that the filters work flawlessly. At a reasonable price point.

Recently bought a new lens and needed a UV filter to put on it. Frankly the UV filtering is a bonus - its some of the cheapest insurance you can get for your lens. The UV filter protects the lens threads, as well as the front lens element itself. In 30 years, I've had two incidents where I might have scratched the lens coating or damaged the lens itself, but my UV filter saved me. Okay, its not a B+W, but those are around $100-150 (I have one on my 70-200 2.8), and while nice, I don't see that it does any better job than this K&F - the K&F doesn't appear to shift colors at all, and I don't see any clarity difference between this and my B+W. Recommended.

K&F concept Armor UV lens are very good. These blew me away with their quality. I am very impressed with these UV filter lens. 28 multi-layer coating without affecting image quality. K&f concept has different series of UV lens. This is nano-x series. Great value for the price of this UV filter.. The UV filter does a pretty good job at reducing UV light. I have different types of UV lights shining through the filter and you can see that it blocks most of the UV light. Overall I am pleased with the UV filter.

Well, leave it to me to be out of the loop; I had no idea that exploding MCUV filters were an issue. Thankfully, nobody on my set has been hurt.No worries, K&F Concept, always at the forefront of innovation, is on it with their new Explosive-Proof MCUV Filter; we can all breathe easier now.All kidding aside, I’ve been a fan of K&F Filters for some time now, and have come to appreciate the consistency and the quality of the brand. The majority of my lenses live their lives with K&F UV protective filters on their front element.Using a spot meter and a neutral grey card, I found that the MCUV filter does not absorb any light, nor does it degrade the image sharpness; the two provided pictures of type face are both enlarged 500%. It does serve the purpose, as is typically the case, of low-cost protection for the front element of the lens. It is very light-weight owing to its aluminum frame, and the thinness of the glass. It has knurls on the frame for grip and the front threads are, at least in the case of the 82mm size I ordered, the same size as the filter size; this allows for filter stacking. This is not the case with all filters; I have several that the front threads are larger than the filter size or rear threads, often the case with VND and CPL filters. In the tests I performed to check for its “Low-Reflectivity,” in situations where there is a high degree of flare, for example the sun is in the frame, it did seem to help reduce flare in the lens I was using. And in situations where there is not a high degree of flare, I did sense that it provided slightly more contrast, evidence that it is preventing some scattered light from entering the lens. So, it did seem to do what I had hoped, that is, provide additional effective coatings to reduce flare in a specific lens. And of course, one would expect the same results on any lens to which its attached. At best, these effects are subtle. On the other hand, they could be imagined; I’m seeing what I want to see. In all things visual, I use my senses rather than charts and graphs to decide if an effect is of interest or useful to me. I don’t make comparisons, but judge a lens or filter for the qualities it has, not by those it doesn’t. Does it provide me a means by which to realize an idea or vision; that is the question for me. Every lens, filter, camera, film, etc, has a quality that needn’t be deemed as “good” or “bad,” but rather, is that a quality that aligns with my vision. Start with a vision, and the means will present itself. As I noted at the beginning, I’ve come to rely on the quality of K&F filters, and for the reasons that the seller asserts, but most importantly to me, the high quality of their multi-coated, anti-reflective glass. Putting low quality glass in front of a high-quality lens denigrates the lens quality to that of the filter in front of it. That is why I have confidence in K&F filters. The filter is supplied with protective case.

I have come to rely heavily on K&F Concept filters and wares. Their quality is excellent and, as with this lens filter, are definitely forward thinking/looking in their product offerings. This filter is said to be explosive-proof.. I am not 100% sure if that means the filter won't explode when dropped or if it is impact resistant and will take the brunt of the force? The instructions/information allude to both cases so I'll just roll with that! From time to time I do find myself in or around areas where things might get a little dicey.. I shoot in industrial areas where debris might get airborne, and I shoot sports where things have come hurling towards me/my cameras, and when I shoot F1 or other high speed auto events there is always flying debris along the track. All that said, I can absolutely see a use case for this type of protection! The filter itself is extremely well made and machined to perfection. I have yet to find ANY defects in my growing collection of K&F Concepts kit.The filter screwed right on to my Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM III with ease. Very satisfying...NOTE: Never over tighten filters!Once on my camera, I took a few test shots (with and without the UV filter) and there was no discernible differences in the images. I took pics in strong/direct light, diffused light, and at dusk and again no issues at all. No haloing, no vignetting, no streaking, no bright/dull spots. Everything was just fine! The description says that 98.9% of light is transmitted through the filter which I absolutely believe to be true. Thanks to the Team at Vine and K&F Concept for the great products!
