Compact and easy to use. Has a small part that stays on the laptop, thus making it easier to lock and unlock the computer. Suitable for a library or cafe setting (peace of mind when leaving the seat for a while).

Purchased for my daughter now at an urban university where security is an issue. It's a convenient cable and works well with the MacBook Air Kensington security dock. I can't help but think the cable itself is pretty thin, but so far she hasn't had anyone messing with the thing. She said all the cabling devices other students use are similarly thin. The only criticisms, well, maybe something people buying this device should just be aware of: the coiled cable, while excellent for finnegling in library carrels and other weird anchors, can be annoying and it can tug on the security dock/laptop, so just be patient and understand that's the deal with a coiled cable and it's just fine. Both of us found that the combo part can be tough to manipulate when securing to the MacBook Air security dock's rear stem and getting your fingers around the combination wheels is a little tricky, so just be aware of that and patient. Overall this cable is very convenient and much better than the uncoiled version in awkward anchoring situations like the library. Starbucks and the on-campus cafe, she says it's "super easy."

Coil is so tight that you don't really have the advertised length. It pulls the laptop.

After reading reviews of many locks, and watching videos of locks being quickly broken, I selected this one - installed easily, and seems more secure than the ones I watched videos on. Hopefully will do the trick in the high theft area this unit is going to!

Fits my MacBook Pro perfectly. Easy to install and use, just make sure you are reading the combination that you set from the right mark on the body of the lock. I didn't, but once I understood this, I was all set. Good Product....

i bought this hear because of the good price and i needed some security for my laptop. I installed it in less then 5 minutes and now can leave my laptop in public with in reasonable distance from me but with more ease now. It comes with everything you need to hook it up to your mac or pc. I even contacted the manufacture to be sure this would work for my 2010 mac cause it doesn't list it as a match but they said it does and they were right. But keep in mind it may be locked to whatever you lock it too but its more so a deterrent to theft. Cause a real determined thief will just rip it right out of the computer of course this ruins the computer since the hook up piece stays attached to your computer so when you hook the lock up to it, it gives the thief a grip to pull but it will pull the whole side out more then likely so there would be no point to try and steal the computer. Great purchase cause now i cant lose the lock key.

What a great idea! As a professional presenter, I'm a big fan of locks for my laptop and projector when I'm on the road--see my review for the Kensington ClickSafe two-headed lock set as well . All you have to do is a one-time attachment of the little "nub" into the lock slot on your laptop. It creates a very firm attachment when you use the supplied allen wrench to tighten it down. The little nub only sticks out about a 1/4 inch, is very inobtrusive, and does not snag on my case or anything. Now, when I want to lock up my unit, all I have to do is push the buttn, click the lock onto the nub, and spin the dials. No more peering for the tiny slot and getting the perfect alignment and twisting it just right. No more loose and floppy locks. With the ease of use of this unit, I know I will be locking my units up all the time like I should have been all along. Great product, Kensington!
