I won't lie, I used the smallest one fresh out of its fancy molded container for the first time, and after 5 shallow 1/8'' holes in some soft plastic it's about as sharp as a marble. Maybe it was that way before I even started, maybe the metal didn't agree with the plastic, but Jus' sayin'. Nonetheless, I'm glad I had the right bit, and I'll learn how to sharpen a forstner bit, but outa the box, holes 1- 5 took a lotta drill down force, almost as if the drill was in reverse mode.

I'm a hobbiest wood worker and this is a great set of forstner bits! For those just starting out, this is a great set to start with.

These work perfect make sure you run them on low speed. They really throw the wood chips.

Only used 2 bits so far. Cut well. Nice case for keeping stored and organized.

This is a decent set of forstner bits for the money. Like others have said, some of the bits are not sharp enough. It seems the smaller bits are decently sharp, but the larger bits are definitely lacking in sharpness. My fix for this is to put the bit in my vice cutting edge up. i then use my Lansky sharpening stones to polish the cutting edges. Only takes a few strokes on each cutting edge to get them sharp enough. There was also one of the bigger bits that had a lot of runout. I've replaced it with a good bit.
