This is the original KAB speed strobe kit. The cool thing is that it has numbers instead of little lines for the various speed scales. It's a lot easier to tell what marks you're looking at than with other discs that just have hash marks. Additionally, it has enough scales to work with any speed on any turntable you might have. The strobe lamp works perfectly, too. I have used several other speed discs from companies such as Audio-Technica, Ortofon, Hudson Hi-Fi and others. This is the one I chose to buy for myself and I like it best.

The speed disc is flimsier than I thought it would be. The strobe is actually much higher quality than I thought it would be. The numbers on the disc are easy to see while you calibrate your turntable. This strobe kit is very accurate- and that is what is most important. It is far more accurate than apps you use on your phone which only get you close. I used this strobe kit to set up my Lenco L75 and L78 turntables.

KAB strobe is a classic and it does work very well. So simple to use - it's handy that the markings are rings of numbers 33, 45, 78 so you can easily see which line you need.BUT SO CHEAP. The light is housed in a plastic box with a battery door that you know won't survive too many changes. The worst is the disc. It's so flimsy that it takes multiple attempts to pry it off the platter with your finger nail.User tip: install the disc on a record when setting speed. This way, you can remove the record from the platter and flip off the flimsy strobe disc. It sure beats having to pry it up with your finger nail! This was over $100.How much more would it cost KAB to make the disc 2mm thick?

The visibility of the scale is incredibility good. I like the resolution of the scale you can get an accurate idea of where the speed is sitting.

Bought this in conjunction with Music Halls Cruise Control 2.0, with the thought of returning the Cruise Control if everything checked out. Everything didn't check out. My Pro-ject 9.2 Evolution was way to fast. I had no idea adjusting your speed could make that much of a difference. This disc and light set make it very easy to see, and adjust accordingly.

After trying two well known apps, which disagreed with each other, I bought the KAB to get a definitive answer about my rega rp3 turn table speed. This speed strobe is great. It not only shows you easily whether it is too fast or too slow, but it gives you a sense of by how much (e.g. ranging from .03-.3%. It also gives helpful advice about how to integrate stylus drag (since it is only the speed when a record is actually playing that matters!), and tells you the actual broadcasting standard for onspeed (within .03%) so you don’t drive yourself crazy if you are within that spec. This was a bit pricey, but well worth it

The strobe is quite good, checked with a frequency counter and it's 60.0003 Hz, more accurate than I was expecting. It is a cheap, plastic case with a cheap plastic button, but it is spot on where it matters. My disc is not evenly cut or printed, so the numbers move around a bit as it rotates. That's deceptive, since it makes it look like the turntable doesn't have stable speed, which a check with another strobe disc and strobe shows it definitely does.In the end, it's perfectly functional for what is needed, but I'm quite disappointed that this "precision" product costing over a hundred dollars is not manufactured to a higher standard.Niels.

This is the first product I use that did not use a strobe flashing light to measure speed. This unit was very easy to use and easier to read the speed due to the color of the light used to read the strobe disk. I very happen with my purchase and recommend this for anyone serious about proper playback speed.
