I got this to check the idle speed of an old VW engine.The device is easy to use and can be fine tuned very easily with the thumb wheel and the different selection of X1, X10, x100 selection.The light is bright enough to be used in an engine bay during the day and by changing the units until a set point on the flywheel stops moving you can easily see what the rpm is.

Amazingly portable. Fits into a toolkit easily and seems to work really well. So far, I've tested mainly with fans and such like, where results were easy to compare over multiple tests. The readings were pretty-much spot-on each time, even on different days.All in all, I'm really impressed that they could get such a portable unit that is as capable as this is, especially at the price!
