Having a cordless strobe is nice to avoid tangling cords when using one. But the controls on this are a bit strange to get the right settings and thus read. It works but...

This allows you to set a very precise frequency (rpm) strobe light for measuring speed visually. Please note that it does not actually measure speed / rpm itself, it requires your input. It's USB rechargeable (USB C, hurray!) so no batteries to feed it, which is a big plus.Also please note that not only will the exact frequency / rpm will make a rotating object appear stationary, but so also will MULTIPLES of that frequency. For instance, if you have a wheel spinning at 100 rpm, 10 rpm, 200 rpm, 1000 rpm, will all make the wheel appear motionless. So be aware of that in your settings and usage.I took -1 star off because a device like this certainly deserves a case of some kind to protect it when it's rattling around in my tool box or back pack. Even a soft case would be preferable to nothing at all, though a semi-hard case would be the ideal choice. Overall, this is a nice stroboscope, and if you have need of such a tool, you should like this one.
